And yet Darnell Lazare seems to be the forgotten hero in that game. I recall him being our one consistent player in the first half giving us a small lead but a lot of momentum.

That big baby free throw rebound against duke (not sure if in the video, haven't watched yet) was awesome.

Darnell was a beast at Woodlawn. I'm surprised he didn't do that more regularly to be honest.

A great, great run. It was just LSU's tournament (until the Final Four)

Struggled against Iona in the opener with Thomas not at 100%, but still found a way to own the 2nd half. Mitchell took what really was a bad shot against A&M. Down 2 in the final seconds and the best you can get is a 25 footer? Didn't matter. Mitchell hit the biggest shot of the tournament that no one talks about. The Duke game gets all the pub, but the Texas game was a grind (hell, all of Brady's games were a grind. Great defense with weak offense).

Most disappointed I've even been after an LSU game (any sport) was the loss to UCLA. No way we were losing to Florida in the championship game. The first two loses to those guys were (1) at UF and (2) without Thomas. LSU was flying high. Unfortunately they ran into a team (UCLA) who was just as good on D, and Brady's lack of offense couldn't overcome it.

Hands down no better sporting event in the world when you have a horse in the race. One of the best memories of LSU bb in my lifetime. Beating Duke and Texas in same weekend has to be one of the biggest events in LSU bb history. Seems like we are so far from that day.

I often wonder why LaMarcus Aldridge was not allowed to play in the Texas game.

Finally. I've been looking for that shot against A&M forever. I signed up for the basketball team the very next year because of that tournament run
