Watch this man, PJ Fleck in a press conference. Serious, about his business and obviously very meticulous. This is the man I'm wanting to take a chance on. Has his team 9-0, the best record they've ever had and only looking to improve. Doesn't care about the future, just the next game.

LSU will have recruits. We need some smart coaches.

He a a crazy good recruiter with an abundance of resources in Louisiana. Could Les Miles recruit? We didn't know and I think he answered that one well. PJ is a better coach and recruiter.

other than 1 year on the Niners practice squad and 1 year coaching the Bucs WRs, hes spent his entire life in Illinois and Michigan. he wouldnt even know where to start recruiting for LSU.

and this is not a Saban/Michigan State situation. Saban was a NFL DC under Belichick and had success on the highest level in the 10. fleck is not that guy.

I'm sure he'd be smart enough to hire guys who know where to start. All this focus on recruiting has not resulted in stellar results. There has to be elite coaching for elite recruiting to matter.

I heard him interviewed on ESPN radio Saturday morning. I was impressed with it. He really seems to a person of details in a good way and a players coach in a good way.

theres a new version of pj fleck every single year.

his bro-style attitude might work in the MAC but it would be a disaster at LSU. lets be candid; a huge percentage of our recruits are poor black kids, either from the country or bad parts of the city. he might actually get beat up going to recruit for LSU.

so because Miles could recruit that means fleck can? based on what?

this year is his best class, as you might expect, he has 25 commits and not one is inside the top 1000.

LINK

i know its the MAC but you cant call the guy an elite recruiter.

Ties to the south didn't stop us from going after Aranda
Aranda is a DC who proved himself in the 10. we didnt need him to recruit, we will need the new HC too.

fleck will have never even met any of the kids were going after for the next 3 years. we'd be dead in the water the minute he was hired.

I think most of LSUs QB recruits have had plenty stars next to their names.

Look the guy has a bright future but there's no way in hell you hand the keys over to a 35 year old head coach. He needs to prove himself at a bigger group of 5 school.

Well in that case Tom Herman would get beat up too. Don't want him either?

Everybody wants the perfect coach...not very many of those around...
Need to get the right one, not the one that can do it all, i.e. recruiting, X & O guy, rah rah guy, offensive or defensive, or both sides of the ball...just not going to find a proven coach that can do ALL of that...BTW, he already has a job @ bama...
