I say absolutely true. Les will not replace Jefferson as long as we are winning, no matter how horrible he plays. I'm certain Jefferson will start the season as the starter and if we beat Oregon, the job is his until we lose. I suspect it will be similar to last year when he played horrible but we were 7-0. You just knew at some point, QB play would cost us games.

If and when Mettenberger becomes the starter, it may be too late to salvage our national title hopes. One loss because of putrid QB play could ruin what could be a magical season.

JJ will not sit if he's winning.

What if LSU loses and JJ is not the reason for it?

I think F and it would take more than 1 game and it being directly related to his play.

Second it's like firing a coach, you don't just do it because you are pissed. You have to have someone who is better to take the position. Or else you end up like our women’s basketball.

I would have said a year ago that no way he get pulled w out losing. But when I think of the UF and UT games last year, I think if he struggles early and Mett looks great in practice, I think Mett plays w out a loss. I know many of you will flame but I hope JJ plays all year and looks great.

Isn't it at all possible that with a better QB developer that Jefferson might start because he is actually better than Mettenberger?

Jefferson showed flashes of talent at times, just has Lee has. Who's to say Kragthorpe can't bring it out of either of them?

Sacrilege!!!!!!
I don't care if the D gives up 5 TDs on busted plays, it'll always be Jefferson's fault we didn't outscore opponent.

It may have been true last year, simply because we had no one better to replace him with.

Hear me out JL advocates. I'm as big a fan of Lee as anyone but he had his problems as well. I would have liked to see him start more down the stretch just so he could have his fair shot. But he had mechanical problems that would've hurt playing an enitre game.

But now after this spring with more practice I think both JL and Mett have the potential to be better than JJ. You can't fix reading defenses, but you CAN fix footwork mechanics.

So if JJ has 2 or 3 games with 0 TD's and 100 yards or less passing then I think it's a no brainer that the coaches need to play a better QB.

Jefferson will start against OR but with a loss and if mett comes in are NC hopes isnt neccesarily gone...I think we will win but with a loss to a top 5 team and obvious because of QB play we will still be in the hunt with our schedule.

Jefferson was outplayed by a wide margin in 2 games last year and was still the starting QB in the following games
