Jim Brown was more size, power, and agility

Ernie was probably faster, I'll try to find some video highlights.

Ernie Davis highlights w/social commentary

It's difficult to find Ernie Davis footage without the social commentary.

Jim Brown Highlights THE RUN AT 3:22 OMFG

Probably closer to Ernie. Jim was mostly brute strength, as you alluded to. Ernie was the faster of the two. Had Ernie not passed away, he'd have been the tailback with Brown as the fullback for Cleveland.

I'll go with Ernie since he has a Heisman

I think Jim Brown. He was about the same size, was fast, and was able to accelerate, then able to bowl people over or spin and run away from them. He should have won the Heisman.

I'll say Ernie too. Nice blend of power and speed. How are LF's hands? Ernie was a pretty gifted receiver out of the backfield.

Obviously, can't go wrong with either. Fournette also seems like a pretty humble kid, so I'll go with Ernie there, too. Ernie, after getting tackled, would famously often help the defender up and say "Nice tackle." Unbelievable human being. Unbelievable tragedy.

Fournette is more likely to slow down to run over a defender like Brown would. Ernie would more likely try to avoid contact an flat out run them.

Fournette is more Davis than Brown. A. Peterson is more Brown. AP is a collision runner he looks to have contact I'm not saying LF7 doesn't he just not AP in that since. And I like that he picks and chooses when to deliver the blow than to constantly try to overpower every body.

semi-related...

"Earnie Davis, Jim brown, Floyd Little... Thank you guys for paving the way for us running backs to this day GOATS "
- LF7 on twitter

(sorry, at bar typing verbatim here what buddy of mine is reading off of Twitter)

And I'll say Jim Brown but with a better/more-utilized burst.

Saw that. Fournette is making it difficult for SU fans to hate him as soon as the final whistle blows on Saturday. Well, other than spelling Ernie wrong, but that's neither here nor there.

Jim Brown is one of the greatest athletes in American history. Led the NFL 8 out of 9 years in rushing and NEVER missed a game in those 9 years. He is also widely considered the greatest lacrosse player of all-time.

It's kind of amazing that he only retired out of pure spite and stubbornness. Basically, the Browns told him that he couldn't go make Dirty Dozen, and he said, "Oh no?"

And the rest is history.

I know this is blasphemy but Jim Brown was just so much bigger and faster than everyone else.

The lbs then we're 220-240 and ran 4.7's

That would have been a freak then. He was 20 years ahead of his time. Of the few players from that era that would be great today.
