amen to that, just go back and look at lsus last TD and watch the lsu lineman tackle one of Bamas lineman. lsu held all night but wasn't called for it. you guys are probably right, if it had happened to Bama I probably would have bitched but just like in this case it wouldn't change a thing.

Y'all are looking at where the center is holding the ball after he has positioned it in his hand and is ready to snap it(the fifity). Look across the field and you will see where the 4th down marker is actually located on the sideline. The ball was not on the 50.

hey scoop...no offense, but eat shite and die. you frickers got another gift game. must be nice having the SEC homer league officals. this shite has been going on since bryant and any honest appraisal of the $EC screams corruption. 'if you ain't cheating...you ain't trying.' the refs missed at least 4 obvious, in the open, holding calls on your vaunted oline and the spear on jefferson was close to criminal. 'point of emphisis'...not when bama does it. just man the frick up and admit that you frickers should have two losses or go the frick away.

i was watching the game with a buddy who's uncle is an sec replay official. he was telling me that his uncle told him that the replay officials don't have the same camera angles as network television, which makes absolutely no sense to me.

i'm calling bullshite unless they've changed the rules since it was started. the backup system is a TIVO.

You're right, the outcome is over and decided.

But you have to acknowledge that it is frustrating being on the losing end of this game, given the officiating blunders.

Although the game is over and decided, when the SEC admits that there were errors, it will certainly give us as fans a little closure and help me move on.

Again, congratulations to Alabama. You guys played a helluva game. We feel we did too, and that we lost out on an opportunity to win the game because of an egregious call in the fourth quarter of arguably the biggest game in college football this season.

A lot of missed calls but they exist on both sides. They didn't call holding against either team. Even in the photo here (the apparent spearing), you can see LSu player #68 clearing holding the Bama player #25.
In the video, you can see that he does does not have a grasp on him, Refs (well, real refs anyway) does look at the hand (because whether your hand is grasping or open hand blocking is hard to tell) they look at the control or movement of the blocked player.

I'd bet in most, if not all, legal blocks you can freeze frame it so that it looks like a hold.

The truth is that is isn't Bama's fault that the officials made an error on the INT or any other call. We LSU fans can be upset with the refs all we want, but to lay any blame on the Bama team or their fans is a clear misappropriation of anger.

But Bama fans, please realize that this is a bit of a sore subject and stop poking the wound. Thanks.

The "facemask" on the receiver was a good non-call...because there was NO PLAY. The whistle had already blown the play dead at the snap because of a penalty on LSU. The pass and tackle after that whistle "didn't happen".

That pic should be removed from your whine.

Then it's a dead ball personal foul on Alabama. I do get your point, though, and halfway agree.

No it doesn't....but then again, you don't know what "control and possession" mean as it relates to the rule book
It was a hands catch. He had control as soon as it hit his hands. You act like the ball went into his body and was moving around before he maintained it. That is not what happened and you are reaching. In a "hands" catch, possession is instant and the ball never left his hands.

i'm in agreement Mr. Burton. It is a sore subject that we as Bama fans should leave alone. If it had happened to Bama I'm sure we would be doing the same thing. So I'm done with all the talk and wish LSU the best for the rest of the year.

He did not demonstrate control and possession when the left foot was down.
FAIL!

Watch it again - PP had possession when his right foot was barely lifting off the ground the first time. Then his left foot clearly landed in bounds and his right foot drags. No bobble, no question an INT. I know what the SEC will say - "he did not demonstrate possession" - but that will be as bogus as the egregious missed call itself.

It happened to us in 2004, believe me, you will get over it.

And for the "block in the back" by Carpenter, give me a break, he hardly even touched the DB. Yall are realllllly reaching on that one.

Even if the play didn't happen, personal fouls can still be called, and a facemask is a 15 yard personal foul penalty.

I don't know if we would have scored after the int, but I wish we had had the opportunity.

Exactly! Two years ago in Tuscaloosa, we had a fourth quarter drive to tie the game late after trailing by 7. We just wanted the opportunity again, but that opportunity was stripped from us.

And I appreciate that. We all have "been there" with our teams before, so it isn't foreign territory to be upset over something like this.
