Maybe we should give him a few games with our current O line before we fire him?

Agreed. I don't think Stud creates a dynamic, sustainable offense. The production against Bama was a player effort.

We don't need that and will probably never see that. Our team is built around defense and ball control, not yardage.

This is not the pro's ....there is no salary cap. LSU always has the talent to be a balanced/good offense. The question is who is responsible.

if our o line is better now why weren't those players always the starters. Why did we have to wait to see Mett sling until the second half of the bama game.

im not a fan of Stud but its hard to know if he is responsible for some or any of the above.

I do know that 2 past Oline players at LSU have said as an Oline coach he is not any good.

The offense will be very good for the remainder of the season, just enough to get us excited for next year and then it will be much of the same. Just seems to be the way it always pans out.

just making a general statement after 9 games...

Have you not seen the general improvement of the offense over the last few games? The o-line is coming together, shots downfield, running with purpose.

The offensive play calling has been the same virtually season. There wasn't a ton of change in the general game plan and play calling this game as compared to other games on a down to down basis.

We simply put it together and executed. We have had young, inexperienced kids playing this season. WRs have had the drops all season, Mett was immature and making bad decisions and inaccurate throws and is starting to get a better feel for where the throws should be made and has been MUCH more accurate. We executed on third down this week which enabled us to run up the TOP and run more plays. The play calling didn't change all that much - it was finally executed to the T and we see what this offense is capable of when it is rolling and executing.

He is just not getting it done. LSU the last 4 years on offense has finished between 80 to 100 in total offense nationally. LSU clearly has enough talent to be higher than that so that falls on the OC here. Miles did the right thing by firing Crowton and hiring Kragthorpe but of course then had the bad luck of him getting Parkinsons. I didn't mind Studrawa being field promoted but 4 years (2 under Studrawa) is too long to be ranked in the bottom 1/3 of offenses in the NCAA...

My post was not specific to playcalling, which has improved with the progression of each position.

Maybe the starters would be playing better if they weren't injured.

He attempted more passes in the first half than the second.

Because as we all know, when LSU fails it's the coaches' faults. When LSU succeeds it's all about the players.

Sorry, was not picking on you. That was a general comment to this thread not to your post.

May sound cold, but I think Stud and Krag are probably both needing other assignments, elsewhere.

Only way I could agree with this is if Frank Wilson gets promoted to OC. We have to keep Frank at all costs.

You are rt, so its actually harder to go out and replace your starting lt, rt, rg, rb, cb and lb.

Whoever called the plays Sat. night did a pretty good job. Whoever called the warecat on 4th and 1.5 should be banned from the state of Louisiana forever. Refrigerator Perry wouldn't have made it from there.

This is why its so frustrating when fans just complain and then complain more. You basically get some notion that you "feel" and then just preach that to be the truth.

The reality is Mett threw 35 passes on the night. 18 of them came in the first half. He only threw 17 passes in the second half. We were losing 14-3 at halftime.
