Outside of Balcony Bengals and about 10 others the student section is just as quiet as the rest of the PMAC.

Were you there? From the tv it sounded like anything but quiet.

The guys on SEC Now after the game were gushing over the crowd tonight, as well as Will Wade. It was First Cut, Lebowski, Pirate King, True Tiger and Lester Earl's worst nightmare. Of course, I'm sure none of them saw it because they probably turned off their tv in disgust after the win.

I was inside the PMAC. The student section gets loud for a big play most of the time, but doesn’t sustain anything for defensive possessions.

When it was loud, it was loud everywhere tonight.

Been to one game this year. Noticed the student section and what’s around it (lower bowl). LSU needs to find out a way to get better crowd noise at games. The lower half is just an older crowd that probably been season ticket holders for quite some time. They don’t seem to get into the game much.

And another 1,000+ tickets purchased didn't show up.

There were more students than the capacity of their section. They overflowed like 5 general sections. Not sure if that is included in their count.

Meh, there were a couple of times during timeouts when the band does the lead in to what is supposed to be the LSU chant and it was crickets. Need them as much are more when we are down as when the good things happen and when we are mad at the refs - that's where I'd like to see them pick it up.

But they have been much better this year relative to recent years for sure.

The last few minutes of the game sounded deafening on TV. The desk guys after the game even pointed out that Wade has students showing up in numbers every game. They had huge praise for the students and Wade for getting them there.

That's what Auburn brings to every home game, and I've been waiting for it to come for us. The students and the fans showed up big time last night...and it paid off!

A text from a friend at the game last night.

quote:

LSU won tonight in a raucous assembly center. Have not see that many students since last final 4 team. Students filled every seat from floor to ceiling from mid Court on both sides to their area for all seats season ticket holders chose not to show. Loudest impromptu neck ive heard in that building. Just got home and saw u2 + 57 texts. LSU won and Wade coached a helluva game n his team played their arses off.

I don’t agree with that. For some unknown reason it was a late arriving crowd, but it was still a good crowd.

One thing I would recommend to the students who want to get crazy. Don’t just jam yourself right behind the goal? Get some of those seats close to the visitors bench too. You may not get on TV as much but you’ll definitely impact the other team more.
