There is a large segment of the LSU fan base that is obsessed with looking classy and hospitable. Look at us everybody! We gave a victory lap to stoneybrook! Everyone tell us how nice we are!

No. Not in the slightest. What fricking difference does it make? Do you have distant relatives who live in Montana who think disapprovingly of you because you live in Louisiana and LSU students said "frick"?

The bottom of the student section gets hate year round for being lame, then we play the number one team in the country and the assholes that don't go to any other game show up like they're die hard fans because they have an excuse to get drunk and behave like morons. It was embarrassing and the people throwing shite will go right back to hating on the "losers" that always sit there once there is a game that isn't a big event.

Agree. The guy who started the "frick you buddy" chant had already been thrown out and snuck back in. When he was getting taken out he and his friends called the event staff man a "bald headed old frick." Just saying this isn't what the entire student section is like.

My kid is one of the front rowers, and I know several of them ... I agree w/ your sentiments, but I think people need to worry less about "being embarrassed" by students.
LSU does the students no favors with the goofy student section seating. When I was a student from 1978-1982, the student section was on the sideline. If they are going to put the student section behind the baskets, fine, but make it wider. All the way across. Move the band to the corner or side of the court, and let the students spread out across the entire baseline. It looks really stupid on TV, going from the floor up to the rafters.
