Student Section Quiet as a Mouse the last 3 Minutes

I sit near them and was urging them to get up and make some noise, but they couldn’t be bothered.

Because minutes 6 to 3 was some of the worst basketball play I’ve ever seen in my life. You watch the game unravel from an LSU lead to being down 4 while the team jacked up threes and made zero rebounds on either end.

It wasn't the students that were leaving when we had the ball down by 3 with 12 seconds to leave. It was the older crowd.

80% of the MBB fanbnase is all seniors who were there to watch Pistol Pete play and all of Dale's teams. Arrive late, leave early.
Student section was packed while the rest of the arena was damn near empty and slowly filling up
Weird melt to shite on the students imo

Even if students aren’t always that loud, they’re usually engaged standing/talking/dresses in something funny when the camera pans to them. And you mostly hear the announcers during televised games, so noise isn’t the issue for the casual fan watching from home. It’s the sideline they show most of the game that looks very low energy.

I said what I said. Everyone and their grandmother knows when IPhones were invented. You missed the entire point. They’re all programmed to have short attention spans and / or spend all of their time on phones. It’s impossible to have them fully invested in a game for the entire time. Crowds will never be what it once was and it’s going to get much worse. That’s if they even decide to go to live events in the near future. You think it’s bad now? You haven’t seen anything.
