Give Mike Norvell a couple years, they’ll have competition finally

Yup, Norvell is doing & saying everything right so far. Tallahassee is already in love with him and the staff. UNC is set up to be competitive too. Howell is really impressive.

It will be great when Dabo leave Clemson for BAMA when Saban retires.

Additions of Kiffin and Leach make it tougher.

LSU has played for 4 NC's in the last 17 years...winning 3. I can handle winning a National Championship once every 5.67 years for the rest of my life.

Damn near happened this year.

“Almost had a third”....... I can’t say that I agree with that comment.

Hopefully Norvell gets FSU back up and running so Clemson fans can go back into hiding where we never hear from them.

They know that what they have is not sustainable from coach to coach. Once Dabo (or actually, his staff) start leaving, it’s all over. They will be back to middle of the pack ACC.

Clemson plays in the anemic ACC, so the truth is they have an automatic playoff bid for pretty much the foreseeable future.

This. Of course they will be back next year.

Is that fair? Well, no & a topic for another thread.

They play Notre Dame in week 2 next year.. At Notre Dame. It usually takes them a few weeks to come together.. If they mess up that one, they will be out of it.. Just because of how weak their schedule is.. They need to focus on that.

most clemson fans are very congratulatory towards lsu, because we know how high of a standard we set, and knew what it would take to beat us, and it took the best team of all time, so with 2 national championships in the previous 3 seasons. In a year we lost our 4 starting defensive lineman + even a backup to the nfl we still returned and made the natty and until the last quarter and a half found a way to play with the best team of all time. So yeah we are sad, but also can appreciate greatness, so all we can do is look towards next year, and hope that Trevor can end his career 15-0, with his lone loss in college coming to the best team of all time. We had a great season and should still celebrate it, and we celebrate it because we know after next year, it could be a long time until we get back, because nothing is guaranteed. I will say im jealous of the schedule lsu gets to play, we tried to schedule top opponents but a&m just happened to be down this year and it stinks that south carolina cant field a semi competitive team, and while you can we get a cake walk to the playoffs (which next year we do) we also never have the chance to have a season like yall do because of how good the sec is. (last year our front 4 would have been fun to try and take on this years LSU team. I hope yall can keep it up cuz i prefer playing yall to bama next year bama vs lsu will be another great one i think. We aren't pats fans we arent gonna cry over a playoff loss, just because weve been great recently, you cant win every year and this year LSU was better, so congrats, but don't knock clemson fans because we are nice about you winning and then being realistic about the future.

(and yes im scrolling through your board wishing I was still celebrating a national championship, not healthy for myself, but what to do with out football for so long... XFL??? hahaa

This is the key to their nervously pompous attitude. Inferiority complex to the max.

They're talking about next year but right now who gives a rip about next year?! What about right now? Who is wearing the crown right now? They're just mad because they had to kiss the ring in front of the nation. Right now I don't give a hoot in hell about what happens next year.

There's no shame in getting beat by the goat of cfb. That's what they should say if they feel the need to say anything at all.

It may be strange but it’s still facts. They bid automatic and we have to be the greatest team ever again. I think LSU win it next year and Brennan win the heisman so what do I know.

Clem has 1 maybe 2 games “at slight risk” prior to playoffs each year.

The playoff committee will always favor Clem b/c nearly every position is a 5* recruit.

LSU was Clemson from 2001-2011, we were either winning it all or in the hunt. Then it became the winner of us vs bama for the next few years.

But also over the past 17 years, we had to deal with Auburn and Florida who were also competing for national championships. And Georgia. And the best run of years that South Carolina ever put together. And that time when the two Mississippi schools were ranked 1-2 in the country.

Meanwhile Clemson has presided over the gradual degradation of Florida State and Miami, and no other ACC powers really stepping up to challenge them.

LSU has won 3 National titles this millinia. Only other team that can say that is bama. No clue what the Johnny come lately crap is. We played for a natty 8 years ago, not 100.
