I agree. That was way out of line. And before the game. I promise it didn't happen by accident.

I saw that and was infuriated. There should've been some sort of penalty. If anything is upsportsman like, that's it.

That's garbage!

They were getting pumped up and were trying to get LSU to come over to them. They weren't intentionally jumping on the eye. Quit being a pussy.

They didn't stomp the eye either. They do what Florida has done for over a decade, which is come together near midfield (but not on midfield bc its a penalty) and jump up and down. Big deal. It was nice that our coaches didn't have control of the team that they broke warmups to go "thug up" and then went in the locker room.

Look, it doesn't matter how long they've done it, it's still disrespectful.Go ahead and do it on your own field, but when you're visiting, don't do that. it's obviously gonna piss fans off. I don't mean just cause you're doing something a tad elaborate to try to pump up your team, it pisses them off because that's their school's letters or logo. It obviously pisses a lot of people off when they do that, so come on, why do something just to piss the fans off. If you want to practice good sportsmanship just don't do the fricking thing. And one more thing, our players weren't going to them to "thug up", they were defending what many LSU fans hold sacred in the eye of the tiger. Look, in the LSU cribs video, Lyle Hitt explains how our own players don't even step on the eye in their own locker room. This actually seems to be a trend across the nation ( I can't remember which school it was, maybe NC State, but there was another school on earlier in the season who also said they don't step on their schools logo on the floor in their locker room). So what do you think is going to be going through our players heads when they see Florida jumping up and down on the symbol that not only they, but Tiger Nation in general holds dear? They were acting as almost any self-respecting squad would have done, they let Florida know that's not acceptable in Death Valley.

You people are getting way to pissed off about that. Let the players get pumped up and excited, it was a huge football game. I'm not saying none of their players didn't purposely stomp on the eye but the games over. The eye will still be there next game I promise.

I don't know about y'all but I was ready to run onto the field and try to kick some arse. Key word there being try...I would be destroyed but my point would still get across

I thought when both teams were taunting each other at midfield was the most exciting part of the game. I'm glad UF does it and I hope they do it everytime they come to BR.

Really…like premature celebration?

This is what we are reduced to—finding fault with their pregame.

All right, I'm not all bent out of shape and crying about it this week, but when the thread popped up, I just shared my thoughts. It's not my main concern right now, but....

Many teams have been flagged before for doing this (Auburn 2001 in Tigers Stadium), and the SEC is so bent out of shape about post-TD mini-celebrations, why don't they focus on what is truly un unsportsmanlike act. Once again, Florida players know exactly what they were doing.

And for those that asked, someone else pointed out that Tebow walks away from the UF huddle when they moved to midfield. Why would he do that? He is their heart and soul of the team, yet he doesn't want to be part of disrespecting another opponent.

I got REAL excited when both teams lined up and started jumping and taunting each other at midfield. It was exhilarating. I thought maybe a riot was about to start. When they ran off I was relieved and was glad they did it. Reminded me of 2 boxers tapping gloves before a match. Thought it was way cool, but that's just my opinion.

I don't care....they also stomped our arse two yrs in a row. We should be more concerned about our offensive problems that some colored grass.

Kick their butts on the field and you never have to worry about the color of your bandana at midfield, like some silly gang ritual.

Florida stomped the "Eye of the Tiger" because they hated Rocky III and Survivor was a shitty band.

If it had said "LSU" at midfield that would be something to talk about.

I don't know if this is something Florida normally does or not, but now that I've seen the video, it's not the big deal everyone made it out to be. Just some kids getting pumped up for a big game near midfield.

Bring it back to DEFCON 5...

The video clearly shows 1/2 of the Fla group on the eye itself (but not across the 50). Furthermore, multiple Fla players were facing LSU jumping up and down on the eye and even pointing with their hlemets off prior to the Tigers even noticing them.

If it was a "team meeting" or a huddle why were so many Fla players not looking at each other?

If if was a "team metting" why did the team leader Tebow walk away?

Why was the "team huddle" not held at the location of the last practice offensive play near the 30?

Why was it not near the sideline where most of the team was prior to the "huddle".

Anyone believing the Fla actions innocent by intent is simply being an appologist for the repeated inappropriate actions of Florida.

Did it or would it have had any affect on the game even if there had been a penalty? NO

Was it an organized and unsportsman gesture? YES

I'm more concerned about the way their defensive line jumped all over our offensive line/QB.
