Looks like steele doesn't want to be out of a job if Les is out in a year or two. Can't imagine Auburn is going to pay him that much more

Well then he's an idiot for going to Auburn. Malzahn's seat is hotter than Les's

I hear you, but they aren't exactly building statues of Gus at Auburn. There is only one safe coach in the SEC and he lives in Tuscaloosa.

True. If they start the 2016 season off with a blowout loss to Clemson, Gus maybe gone by late October

So is this what BugaPainTrain was talking about with big changes to the staff coming? He could have right a few weeks ago.

I love O. The problem with O, is that he has already stated if the right HC job comes along, he is gone.

There has never been a better opportunity for O to be HBC at LSU. Miles has a 2-3 year window even with phenomenonal success by Miles.

On the one hand, it's hard to believe this is catching us off guard.

OTOH, I can understand Steele wanting a bit more secure situation.

I'm surprised though, that Auburn is after Steele. I figure they'd think they could do better, but maybe Muschamp leaving suddenly left them in desperate straits.

And hey, Malzahn may be on the hot seat, so Steele may not have found greener pastures. I could certainly see both him and Les being fired next season.

The most logical conclusion I can come to is both LSU and Steele look at this as a "win-win."

No big-name-reputation defensive coordinator is going to come here with Les likely in a lame duck year next season, so yes, I look for O to be promoted to DC.

I thought Steele had a good defensive game plan last night. Who ever decided to bring Beckwith down to end was spot on.

Why are we having issues keeping out D-Coordinators? Our coaching staff looks so unappealing to recruits it is hard to watch.

Malzahn may be on the hot seat? If that's not the understatement of the year
Also I think it has a lot to do with him being close to fully vested with the Alabama state pension situation. That may or may not have a lot to do with it

Steele has been an utter disaster as the DC, and this was the worst defense LSU has had, by far, since the 2008 Defense That Shall Not Be Named. This is the first time LSU has finished outside the top 5 in the SEC in yards/play since the co-DC experiment.

This is bigger, and better, news than the bowl win. If I could get rid of one coach on the staff, I'd get rid of Steele. Even before Peveto, just due to importance of the job.

Thank you, Auburn. Now, sign the papers and make it official.
