LSU ALMA MATER

Where stately oaks and broad magnolias
shade inspiring halls,
There stands our dear Old Alma Mater
who to us recalls
Fond memories that waken in our hearts
a tender glow,
And make us happy for the love
that we have learned to know.

Another post on staying late/leaving early. Terrific. This place is becoming unreadable.

If this thread causes at least one person to learn our Alma Mater and sing along with the team, it will be a post well spent. Try it.

Hey look.... They play it at the beginning too before the national anthem, so I can sign along then.

And being I went to lsu for undergrad and grad school I actually know the words without some rantard telling me

Let's see if I can remember the seecond verse:

All praise to thee our Alma Mater, moulder of mankind,
May greater glory love unending, be forever thine.
Our worth in life will be thy worth, we pray to make it true, and may thy spirit live in us,
forever, L...S... U... !!!

Look now... you seem somewhat educated. I only have a 4 year degree, but if you want to sing along with Miles and the team, it occurs at the end of the game. I'm just garnering some support here pal, unlike you.

+1 It would be nice to have a large portion of the NEZ, if not the fickle, juvenile and vulgar students sing along and sway back and forth arm in arm while Miles and the players sing the Alma Mater.

The last time I really remember that happening was Arkansas '11.

FYI, they only sing the second verse after the game.

eta : If you stayed, you might know that.

I have a 3 qtr limit. I'm going to show up in the 2nd and stay until the end. Will that make everyone happy?

TGBFTL circa 1991 - I can't remember exactly how it went, but there was a Linda Moorehouse reference involved......

Plenty of students stay til the end and sing, and in greater numbers than a lot of other sections. Not sure why this board loves to talk shite about them.
