Those guys played there arse off last night.
They just don't have the talent/experience right now.
We had opportunities in the game. We just missed a few easy shots late in the game. Specifically 2 right at the rim, 1 by White, 1 by Green.

Not to mention at least 2 occasions when fouls were called on LSU defenders when they didn't even touch Alabama players. Not that we would have won, but what the hell are these officials seeing out there?

They are SEC officials, it's like have three Jim joyce's every night except they don't ever realize when they screw up

I was just about to type this same exact thing. I used to sit on the bench in the early 80's and that was fun. This team just isn't fun.

I knew they would be bad this year (not this bad, but bad nonetheless). The thing that has me concerned is two-fold: (1) In most games, even games against marginal teams, this LSU team is not even close to competing (the game was "close" last night, but Bama will not make it out of the first weekend of the tourney...can't really use them as a litmus test nationally), and (2) I see absolutely no reason why they will be any better next year. Sure they are young...and unathletic and reliant on a 5'8" soph two guard (next year) for scoring and maybe a 6'9" true freshman big man from MS which has not produced a college ready freshman in a decade in basketball.

Malcom finally showed a decent 10 foot jumper. With him coming off the bench next year that is promising

Really? I can't see any reason why they would be worse. You bring in a McDonald's and Michael Jordan All American, a 7 footer who in his last season in Big 12 play was ranked near the top in FG% and Offensive boards, maturation from guys like Turner and Derenbecker, and I'm pretty sure you'll see us sign another point guard who can come in and compete for a starting spot.

If a pg can't win the starting spot over Stringer, he should not be signed.

No doubt, but until we sign someone you never know.

Also, is this team definitely worse than last year's team? I know last year we had Tasmin, but even at that I'm not so sure.

This is absolutely the worst team LSU has ever had. The first three teams you show were on probation, the 06 team had some really good players, a couple of them hurt and last years team had tas on it. How you can not say this is not the worst team ever is retarded. Anyone with any knowledge of bb history will tell you the same.

The fact that there are this many candidates for "worst basketball team ever" says a lot about LSU basketball in general.

No, it says your A.D. made a terrible hire. LSU was a program in the Final 4 recently.

Well, I'm glad we've established that you are not an LSU fan.

Secondly, the "candidates" for worst LSU team ever encompass three different coaches.
