If the objective is to win the series, why not start Holman on Sunday against probably Tanner Jones (ERA 6.75) versus against Lamkin (ERA 4.47).
It worked for JJ in Omaha against Florida.

Lamkin has yet to win a road start in the SEC. Go all in on this one.

I like our chances with Holman vs Larkin.

JJ said LSU had to win Saturday because they did not have the pitching Sunday and were holding Hurd till Monday.

Hurd and Skenes had the same amount of days rest going into Monday night's Game 3. They didn't play Skenes because of it. The only reason they put Hurd out there was because he didn't throw as many as Skenes the prior outing. In no way was anyone thinking they could throw Hurd on Sunday. Monday was the only option, JJ was not punting Saturday if Hurd was available

But LSU lost Saturday(by a bunch) & Hurd went on to win Game 3 on Monday?

So how is that “working out” for CJJ if he thought LSU “Had to win Saturday”

Point is they pitched their best pitcher (Besides Skene) in the third game. I think Holman on Sunday gives LSU the best chance to win the series.

We didn’t really have anyone else to pitch in Game 2 in Omaha.

And Ack was awesome his last start.

If you are going to lose on Sunday because your pitching is exhauasted, you have to win Saturday to get to a third game when you can pitch Hurd.

If there’s ever a time for Hurd to step up it would be Sunday
Maybe it’s time to give him one more start
