I know a gentleman who gets to attend practice anytime he choses. I realize that some of this has already been posted, but he says......

1) Jefferson looks very comfortable, but Garrett throws it better. If he can grasp the reads, he will compete for PT.
2) Michael Ford will make #18 a backup by SEC play.
3) Kellen Theriot running 1st team FB a lot.
4) Williford and Hurst make the line a big upgrade. Jury still out on Faulk. T-Bob will be a backup.
5) Shepard catching everything....look for a Harvin type role with Gonzales here.
6) Chad Jones = Style.....Craig Loston = Substance. Beast
7) LB is a concern.
8) Montgomery and Brockers look really good.

So is Williford in the 1st 5? What is the starting o-line looking like as of now?

Thanks for the info.

I hope we see all 3 backs mixed into the same possession as oppossed to the same damn one back per possession shite Crowton has used in the past.

Not a fair assessment because we haven't seen Ford in live game action yet and Murphy's carries have been limited for his entire time here. I have a feeling that, if his knee holds up, he is going to surprise alot of people when he gets more than 4 touches a game.

Doesn't J Lee look good in practice too? I just want a returning starter back at QB. No more freshmen as our starter please. If JJ doesn't do well this year, i'll be all for Garrett getting a chance in 2011.

So does Randle. I like to hear that.

According to the stats from the practice report jarret and Jordan were the only 2 throwing during the scrimmage.

I think Murph is great and all, but until he stops slipping down every other carry trying to make cuts, I'd rather see Ridley or Ford or even Wate if he can adjust quickly enough.

I think one of the reasons he may slipped so much is because he was trying so hard to make something happen with his carries because he knew they were limited.

But you are absolutely right. He needs to stop doing that or he will not be on the field long.

This surprises me because Chavis is the best coach and best position coach we have on staff. Did he say anything about the teams execution and the coaches sense of organization?

I also was at the scrimmage yesterday,my biggest complaint Garrett getting no reps to speak of(Ireally wish JLee had bailed).Ford did have a few WOW moments showing great balance and decent speed.

Yea I don't think I quite understand not getting Garrett snaps. You'd think Miles still has the thought of what it's like losing QB's in the SEC. Couldn't hurt to have Garrett ready if needed. Jefferson tends to get roughed up easy ( I know the lack on Oline last yr) Just saying when he takes a few good licks it seems to effect him. We all know Lee can pass the ball but lacks the it factor so why not let Garrett and Lee fight it out for backup role?

Only thing I can think of is experience and playbook. But with Garrett being a RSF you'd think he knows some of the playbook.
