I know it's an old topic but I had a realization

Was that the game where you as an LSU fan "grew up" and stopped taking LSU football so seriously?

I feel like most fans had to dissociate temporarily and reevaluate their fanhood because the game made everyone so angry, almost to the point of depression. I know a few people who had to step back and re-evaluate their fanhood and realize it's "just a game" at the end of the day, just curious if it's an across the board thing. Maybe it's bc I was 24 at the time, where there's a natural transition from college to a professional life where you focus on different things.

1/9/12 was the end of my support for Les Miles. I had put up with the crap because of his record, but that slump at the end of the season and then no offensive gameplan just killed me.

More a reaction to the inappropriate depression and anger of some fans. I didn't want to be one of "those guys." Moreover, I didn't want to serve as a negative role model that being one of "those guys" was okay.

I'll go to the games, pull for the team, and if we lose, I'll be disappointed. But I will still have had a good time with family and friends. If LSU losing a football game is the worst thing that happens to me on a given day, I'm incredibly fortunate.

Yes. Saban made LSU fans quit.

Arkansas 2014. I turned it off at half time.

When I lived in Tuscaloosa, Ole Miss was beating LSU last year and I was at some bar laughing like. "Oh well, maybe next year..." Good times...

Yea I share your sentiment. I think that's kinda what I was getting at. Just feels like less people live and die with each game like we used to

What was so bad about that game was the game plan was the same as the first time we played that year. The ONLY reason we won that game was because their kicker missed 4 field goals.

Having other things to occupy my mind, like kids. That's what gave me more perspective on LSU games

Jamie Howard interception game against Auburn. I was so pissed off after that game, I was shaking. Realized soon thereafter it's just a game. Sure, I still get into it, but I can shake off a loss a lot quicker now.
