In HS I leveled Josh Reed and recovered his fumble.

I was embarrassed in a race with Chris Cummings.

Mike Burk, Shawn's father, used to keep our horses for us. When my sister and I wanted to ride, Shawn would round the horses up for us bare footed, even in the middle of winter. He's still a good friend.

growing up in Monroe my best friend's dad was a huge LSU booster. In the summer we would ride in a work truck with players like Oliver Lawrence and Toby Caston, while they were getting paid probably $20 an hour cash .......those guys were huge to a 12 year old

Had a chance to sub as a ball boy for the Lakers - New Orleans Jazz back in the day when Pistol Pete was still playing (circa 1980). Unfortunately, he was recovering from a knee injury and DNP. So was in a rather crotchity mood soaking his leg in the whirl pool. Treated me like his personal "house boy" all afternoon before the game. But then was cool enough to autograph a picture of him from that game's program which I still have displayed in my "LSU Man Cave" today.

Played in the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame golf Tournament with Pete Maravich and we won in sudden death playoff. Plus drove him around for the weekend, played horse with him on a 8' goal, he never missed a shot by the way. Very entertaining weekend. He was definitely my childhood hero as he was every 12 year old Louisiana kid back then.

As a freshman ( 1969) I played in a full tackle football game in the muddy field next to and South of Tiger Stadium. Tommy Casanvva was running with the ball and I attempted to tackle him. I did not even slow him down. Later he said "good hit" but I know he was just being nice.

D.Byrd and I used to run together every once in a while. Been about a year since I saw him though. He's a good guy.

Met Chris Jackson at the Baton Rouge Airport when he played at LSU. He stood and chitchatted with me an my dad for about a half hour. Really really nice guy. He was my hero at the time. Now i think he's a head case though. That islam stuff screwed his mind all up. He gives the impression that he's racist toward white people.. but i dont know for sure.

Will Arnold is a punk that used to frequent the Texas Club running around saying "im will arnold!" Dude was the most overrated LSU player ever in my opinion. He never lived up to his preseason "all SEC" hype.

Met many LSU football players through D Byrd. Terrance Toliver has zero personality btw. Not a lot of activity upstairs.

Vernel Singleton and I talk on facebook every now and then. He's really a cool cat.
