I understand, and somewhat, can forgive your delusion. Regardless of your age, your head has been filled with what Joe Willie Namath called the "Eastern Press" and their blitz of big whatsit and other northern football. Add to this the false sense of pride you boys garner from old black and white films where Rudy Valee sings the fight song while the "big game" looms with Purdue or some such stalwart. To this mix add the legend and lore of going to the "Grandaddy of them All", Rose Bowl. An event long ago separated from a real ball game because the "Committee" made a backroom deal to exclude real teams. (Check 1935 or so to see last ball club to appear).

Yup, every year some talking heads pump up the Michigan States and the OSU's for the bucks and so the tv's in Winnewasso won't all be tuned to Andy re-runs for cultural exposure. But, 43 years ago I visited the Madison campus,listened to the same "LS-Whoo" mockery, and watched our second string qb smoke the Bad-gers. The following year, I again saw those cats come into TS with the much ballyhooed, Rufus Roadrunner Fergueson. 63 yards on 20+ carries and a worse beating than the '71 game. Now you're coming with the "best tandem" in college football? They couldn't start for Vandy!!!
