Meh, he doesn't flip out over a hard fly to....short, like hawthorne does.

EXTREMELY knowledgeable though. I'll take that over 'entertaining'/no idea whats going on ANY day.

Just one of many small mistakes Jim consistently makes in every broadcast in every sport.

You gotta wonder what he was even thinking about?

I don't wonder one bit. I believe he just witnessed one of the greatest plays in the history of college football executed by the team he loves and excitedly blurted what the spotter pointed out to him. Think about what most of us would've said in that situation. I couldn't have made words come out. I can't believe you people.

what's pitiful is that nine years later some people are still whining about it. i dont bitch about something that happened yesterday much less nine years later.

and honkus, no not mad, just amused at some people who obviously don't have a life to be bitching about something that long ago. it's comical really.

Didn't read the whole post, but did anyone catch that he was talking about the Vandy/Ole Miss score, while he was calling the LSU/Ole Miss game? I know it was just one of his flubs, but I was like, Huh!

One of the greatest insights Hawthorne has shared this year is how the new bats are having a deadening effect on how hard balls are hit.

And he shares this information with his listening audience 3-4 times each inning. Of every game. Since the first game of the year.

I tend to like JH and his LSU enthusiasm. Broadcasting is not exactly an easy job for you armchair critics who likely make C's in speech? Any of you broadcasted before, much less spoken in front or large group of people?

ahh yes, the "you couldn't do any better" arguement. this must be on pg 1 of the Hawthorne apologist handbook. Right next to "he bleeds purple and gold" and "i've listen to other announcers, and Jim puts them to shame!"

Long live Jim and his comedy of errors
