Is it me or when Jim calls Football games he misses alot of names and calls wrong formations and etc... Especially big games, But something about him is he calls great Baseball games!! You think the long day tailgating for football and the use of WAY too much alcohol affects Jim's ability to call a flawless game?? My people have always said Jim must be hitting the bottle pretty hard tonight, for football games!!

Other than the Blugrass Miracle when has he done this? Jim gets way too much shite from the fans. I promise you if you listen to other school's broadcasts you'll have a better appreciation for JH.

Jims voice is LSU Sports tho, it doesnt matter where you are, you can always find an LSU game on the radio by hearing jims voice and immediately know its the LSU game...

I can't believe ya'll ride Hawthorne's arse so hard. Yes...he makes a few mistakes and yes...he's a little cranky. But, he's our cranky!

Hawthorne's voice IS LSU. He does a great job and loves LSU. Cut him some slack!

Thankfully I never have to listen to him for football so I won't comment on it. But I've listened to other schools' baseball broadcasts, and he does indeed suck just as bad as I think he does.

It was an honest mistake that he corrected. Don't be so harsh. I hope noone is demanding perfection from you.

His voice isn't terrible, it's just his commentary. If you aren't watching the game and only have radio access then you really can't tell how many mistakes he is making. The only thing you really know is when he starts whining about being there too long, or when he gets a rule completely wrong. But if you watch Geauxzone you really start to see that he does a very poor job of describing the action that is actually taking place. I'll give him this much, he sure does know how to fool listeners that have no way of knowing any better.

well i don't know how this would factor in but i've listened to Hawthorne for many LSU games including football and i've listened to Jim Henderson for the saint's games. now Hawthorne is great and i get the chills every time i hear one of his calls from good plays in past games but listening to Henderson i noticed how many mistakes Hawthorne makes that Henderson doesn't.
i just find it more pleasant listening to Henderson.
