I love this excuse from the students
not a student anymore, just a logical observation

tell me it is not more dense in the student section from this pic. People are always standing in the isles

But this is sad and pathetic:

People were sitting on the steps in the late 90's too, man. They've given more seats for the various student organizations. They need to cut back.

They should sell tickets that are already sold?

those seats are sold and the students that have them are likely in the stadium.

Ever noticed how dense the student section looks? Its because they pack 30 in a row designed for 20

everyone wants to be by their friends

thats why there is always a gap there

As stated by another poster, most all of us have sat there at one time or another, and we are aware of the logistics.

It still doesn't change the fact that the large block of empty seats look bad on the fan base.

Those seats were sold to general public.

They do this every year for the Arkansas game. Since its Thanksgiving break not all students buy the Arkansas ticket so LSU sells the leftover tickets from the top of the student section

Are you a law student? Well in that case, you must go sit up top

Well that's exactly why they don't sit there

This. This has happened for years. You really think this is new? Half the students are gone for Thanksgiving.

I bought tickets in that section for the A&M game. I got an email from the Ticket office saying there were tickets available to purchase and ended up buying 6 for friends and that is where they were. So, I guess they got tired of them not being used. That is why I think there will definitely be a reduction in the size of the student section next year.

Again, faulty reasoning. LSU students can sell tickets back to the university if they know they will not go. You were the beneficiary of this, congrats!

There were tickets available in several sections not just the student section, but in most other sections they were singles or piggy back seats. The sections in the North Endzone were basically full rows of seats. The fact is that students are not using their ticket allotment so I would support a decrease the number of student section seats and go ahead and make them available as season tickets. If there were waiting lists for student tickets or students were not able to get in, that would be different a story, but the demand is not there at the present time.

But you're wrong… They sell out, you can buy tickets that are sold back to LSU from their Ticket Marketplace. The demand is there.
