Think we stay #1? or does LSU jump us?

#2 is my guess - LSU is still undefeated despite not having played an away game or top tier team yet. Don't get me wrong, I respect the hell out of their program, but their scheduling thus far is not impressive.

Agreed. Their OOC is "Less Than Stellar".

LSU always schedules 90% of its preconference games at home. Why? Because we are LSU and we can. Also, northern schools want/need to play in the south in Feb. and March. We'll certainly get our share of top teams once conference play starts, and it's not like we have a bunch of OOC pushovers come in to play us.

The fascination with baseball polls boggles the mind.

does it matter? #1 or #2 ranking will not win you the CWS

A team just wants to be in the top 8 at the end of the season so it can receive a super regional at home.....assuming it wins its regional.

To be fair, the OOC schedule (regardless of home/away) is not impressive.

I didn't know Virginia was the north

anyway, you can rationalize lsu's scheduling all you want but in the end most of your fans will agree that LSU has not been tested with a quality opponent or in hostile territory. Is that bad? Not necessarily. Is that the teams fault? No. But it is what it is and they've done nothing but win with te cards dealt to them

and it's hilarious now how many times UVA boards get looked at now we are vying for another Omaha berth. I bet it's doubled the message board traffic haha

Agreed. It is an honest assessment. Maybe some LSU fans know very little about LSU baseball.

Who said that?

I agree, but this is always how LSU's schedule is set up. I'm just commenting on a few Virginia fans who are new to this powerhouse thing.

It's good because it gives LSU time to "get it right" before we play more meaningful games.

It's more north than North Carolina?

Put that whole civil war thing behind you and realize you're in the middle of the country. Not in the warm weather south.

It's an irrelevant assessment. We've never been one to play top OOC teams.

This is always how LSU schedules its games. This year is no different. Easy home schedule early, work out the kinks, and get ready for SEC play. It's an honest assessment by someone ignorant about LSU. It just shows they don't realize that's how we schedule baseball every year.

Only thing that matters is that LSU will be there in the end......

Will UVA?

I like this team a lot......and when it gets warmer, look out.

In games not against LSU

Centenary 5-3
McNeese 5-4
W&M 5-1
Pep 4-5 (wins over CSF and Oregon)
Brown 1-1

It hasn't been great, but it's not as bad as some people make it out to be.
