If talent is the primary factor when determining success in football, then why is it that a school that leads the NFL with active players on roster has only claimed one SEC title in the last seven seasons?

Because they leave when they become useful.

Then why is it taking our players so much longer to become useful? Could it perhaps be a coaching issue?

How is it that other current football powerhouses are exempt from this phenomenon (e.g. underclassmen departures)? The current state of college football demands you to reload annually if you are going to expect to bring in top-tier talent. It's the coaches' responsibility to develop these young players and prepare them in a timely manner.
