did you just find that gif or something? I don't even know how to react to it as a response to my post in the other thread.

Everyone you listed but beloso. He has 0 abs... Those two freshmen have looked great in their few at bats no doubt. But you still have to find a way to get a guy as talented as Hampton in the line up. At least to see what he can do in a real game.

We saw him last year and it wasnt good, we’ve seen him run the bases this year and it wasnt good. We have a minimum of 5 OF’s who are better than him and im not counting beloso as an OF.

Hampton still goes over and takes swings during football season. He doesn’t just put down a bat in June and not pick it back up until Februar
I understand that, I don’t think anyone has suggested he doesn’t pick up a bat during that time. That said, he is not able to devote the amount of time to prepping for the baseball season as the rest of the team. He’s not getting as many swings in as the other OFs that are apparently ahead of him in the lineup. I would absolutely love to get him some ABs during midweek games but that’s a tough proposition given the other talent we have in OF with the way they’re looking right now.

He needs to conmit to football bc i think he has potential there. Missing spring football to ride the bench in baseball makes zero sense

I think he could likely excel at either sport and would probably be in his best interest to focus on one.

Excel is a strong word but yes he needs to pick one. When i think of others who succeeded in 2 sports i think of chris jackson who was a kicker for the football team, thats easy to manage and chad jones who was a reliever in baseball, again easy to manage. Managing playing safety and the outfield just doesnt seem plausible at this level

Jones actually became a reliever as a last ditch effort to make some kind of baseball contribution following his last football spring practice in 09. Up until that point he too was a safety/outfielder who wasn’t consistent enough to hold down a spot in the lineup.

I'm sure not many remember Chris Jackson. Very underrated athlete. High school QB/K, SS, P, play wherever you want him to. Ended up 3B and K here.

But why do you have to do it when guys who obviously performed better than him at practice are already doing well in real games?

The guys that got shots to play before Hampton are guys that beat out Hampton in practices and scrimmages. I know there are practice guys and there are gamers that show up when the lights are in but there also guys that can do both well. As a coach you give the practice guys the first crack at showing what they can do in games and if those guys are productive they stay in the lineup. If those guys struggle then you look at the guys that were beat out in practice and give them there shot and see what happens.

He was hurt last year and was never healthy. Bregman was hit less his first weekend of college baseball. They probably should have never played him again....

Fielding wise he is going to be just as good or better than anyone they have.
