you mean like calling a loss on the road to a national seed a choke?

Probably more so referring to how we continually lost in the regional or super regional round in the last few years, never made it to the college world series even when we were the higher seed, and then today losing when we would have been out of the inning if not for an error on the bunt to get the original runner on first.

Look, everybody gets upset when you call teams out for not finishing strong, but sometimes its accurate. LSU baseball was the same way until we finally broke through in '91. Hell, even the great Ben McDonald choked in his biggest moment at LSU giving up the grand slam to Stanford.

Some LSU teams historically don't finish, or get the job done when given opportunities and today the softball team was that team. We left like 7 runners on in scoring position the radio said, which was considerably more than A&M.

If you're referring to 2005, it was not our fault we finished ranked #3 int he regular season with 52+ wins and we were sent to Palo Alto and then Tempe. That was RIDICULOUS.

yeah the team just wasn't very good at the plate.. kind of fitting they only scored 1 run in an extra inning game to end the season

Probably not going to leave there. Think Habetz, UH's coach Holas, or maybe Ga Tech's coach Perkins.

I am proud that the girle fought back to get this far...congrats on a nice season!!

Now, we sit back & will probably hear about a new coach within a few weeks after the Softball Championship. But, there is no hurry, and I would think some coaches would already consider LSU who are currently coaching teams in the regionals.

i just read the bio of the GA Tech coach. I like her a lot, not to mention she is a Nicholls grad. Sounds like we can snag her with the right offer.

This and the SEC assistant coaching experience is a big plus. If you look at the top 10 hitters on the their team the lowest BA is .295. That would be the best BA on our team. Granted the ACC isn't the SEC but I'm sure she can make some improvement there.

I was at the game and for the life of me could not figure out why the head coach was arguing when the player got tossed. I am not wearing my maroon glasses either. The player gave the ump the look of death when he called a foul on the previous play and then slammed her bat down on the plate when she struck out and looked right at him again. All three coaches were each yelling at different umpires which I have never seen before and it easily went on for 2-3 minutes. It did not look like the head coach was going to leave the field unless the umpire tossed her. He finally did. It was a not a quick rash decision. This being her last game, what was she thinking?

Not sure they showed it, but A&M did a nice presentation after the game for the retiring LSU head coach including flowers and a gift. It took several minutes to find her to come out and accept her standing ovation from the fans.

I was at the game as well, and after the game the presentation the aggies did was nice...but the fans were pretty bad...we made the drive from Katy to spend the afternoon at the ball park...and I will say no one was rude to me or my family for that matter but man the fans where harsh when it came to the players and the calls...kind of shocked me to tell you the truth. It was the first time I have been to a collegiate softball game so maybe this is the norm

She got thrown out of the game for slamming down the bat? That's weak. That ump is a count.

And then you should have heard the fans screaming at the girl...a bounce of grown men yelling at a 18 year old girl...like I said it was just a little shocking...maybe its normal.
