where does that leave Stallings? In a set up role to bring in Gilbert?

I didn't hear this. I'm a little surprised. I thought Stallings would be the closer. He has classic closer stuff if he can locate his breaking ball.

At this moment, if I had to bet my last dollar with a one run lead, I'd rather Gilbert close the game. But I hope to see Stallings as the closer come May.

Why not the better pitcher?

Knew this was coming. Gilbert is too good not to use him in situations like this.

Id rather whoever is the better pitcher close the game. Chris cotton wasnt your typical closer either. He worked out incredible

Yep. It is not all about how many mph your fastball is.

I like this kid. He probably has as much disdain for the gumps as I do, if not more.

What's the latest with Matty Ott? Does he play pro-ball?

Who is the better pitcher? Gilbert has show signs of being pretty good for sure but he's had some uncomfortable innings as well.

I didn't say it was. Just that they (Deichmann) weren't helpful. And he was extended too far vs Sac St.

Gilbert throws pretty hard too and has proven that he can locate his offspeed pitch. Came in as a freshman in some pretty tight spots and pitched well.

He has? He's pitched a total of 5 innings at LSU. I'm very much encouraged by his start just like everyone else though.

We have three-four weeks before SEC play. Don't really understand why this is happening now. Let it play it self out. I sill like Stallings IF he can master an off-speed pitch.
