I thought it would be close - but didn't see this coming. But I thought LSU would win. Before the game I was hearing from every LSU friend I talked to : A&M by 10

Strange game. DV got to them

Well, we haven't looked that good on D all year long.

And JFF was averaging 41 ppg coming in.

I can see why many were nervous.

If you don't know the answer to your own question than you don't know shite about football.

A combination of a pretty bad defense and a fear that the team would give up after the Bama loss.

Wrong. aTm hasn't scored less than 41 points in their last 13 games going back to last season. So their average was higher than 41. And JFF has never completed less than 50% of his passes in his college career and tonight he only completed 39%. Hats off to our defense tonight.

Eta: everyone thought we would lose because aTm had arguably the best offense in the league with the reigning heisman winner at QB who was having an even better season than last year against our defense which had played terribly against good offenses all year so everyone thought aTm would score at will against us.

I saw a stat on ESPN that said his QB rating vs LSU was in the 20s and against everyone else 88.

You would be surprised my friend.

Let me tell you why it was strange why most LSU fans felt A&M would win:

The matchups favored LSU easily. A&Ms defense is so bad that Rice rammed it down their throat. There was no way in hell Hill was not going to ramble for 10 at will. The game was set for Hill and Mett to burn em.

A&M's O. Yes this was odd that they played so bad. But - Auburn got stops. LSU was going to get stops.

If you know anything about football big timer - you knew LSU would roll at will on A&M. and LSU was favored.

Learn your football.

Eta: I think it was 20 something against LSU and 88 against everyone else

In actuality the defense was never "pretty bad." It's only bad in comparison to LSU D of the past 5 years. Relative to college football, they've played about average to above average.

Plus Bama and Auburn were at A&M.

No faith in Death Valley? Death Valley made them look like deer in headlights from first snap to last.

LSU fans should have been confident.

to our defense and to this incredible run-on sentence:

And the weather played into our hands; they looked like the Saints when playing in less than desirable conditions, we looked like the cold weather team!

This.

So far this year, LSU has the second best D in the SEC west in points allowed behind Bama. We are all so used to seeing a dominating D it makes this team's D appear to be crap, but they're not.

I'm very happy I was wrong, but I am still a little shocked that we won. Especially how we won

Reasons:
D has sucked all year and this was the best offense we've played
The team quit in the 4th quarter vs Bama
We have a history of mailing it in after losing to Bama
I have almost no faith in Les to get the team ready

This are the reasons I thought we'd lose

I never predicted a loss. I didn't know how they would respond with nothing left to play for. They had no pressure on them because the season is basically over. They are playing for next year
