Let's see if Shep can get the 'pass first' mentality down before we write off his chance at QB.

His arm is strong enough to demand safety help on the deep route.. I'd dare a defense to show man-coverage against Shep

just look how much Shep improved from his junior to senior season in his passing at Cy-Ridge

hell, I had season tickets at Neville and went to every home game back when Robert Lane was there and I can honestly say that he didn't progress one bit in his passing from his junior season to his senior season -- and that was a clear sign of the bust he turned out to be

Shep improved and worked with NFL QB Jeff Blake to do so... further, he is a very intelligent kid with a great work ethic and will to get better ...you can even tell his mechanics have vastly improved and it would be dumb to assume he won't continue to improve in that aspect of the game

..hell, everything points to that occuring...so why all the doubt? Again, if Vince Young's special ed-arse could get it done with shitty mechanics, then why can't Shep?

Did it ever cross you guys' minds that maybe the guy was joking? Sarcasm detection seems to be incredibly lacking on the Rant.

Well, if he was, it was a lame arse joke and deserves to get slammed for it.

Picture this.

JJ at QB
Trindon at WR
RS lined up along side Mr. Scott at Hb..

JJ pitches it to RS, who runs right with the option to pass to anyone, or a deep, open TH, or just run for 40. I BELIEVE!

The point is that rantards like SFP put an inordinate amount of emphasis on things like stats, and ignore the intangibles like heart, work ethic, determination and being a student of the game.

RS is an amazing talent, we all know this... but in my opinion a lot of his success as a runner came from the fact that he played the QB possition and nowhere else. Because at the QB position you have to respect the pass, respect the fact that he has two options. To pass or run it. That leaves open space to run and options. If he were to play anywhere else im sure he'd do great, but I feel QB is where this guy can be the biggest threat.

I think I would prefer LaFell at WR, just my opinion.

the biggest threat he will impose on the field is RESPECT.

teams will have to respect the pass and run EVERY play when the ball is in his hands.

crowton fricked up virginia tech in 2007 all day with perrilloux and that option/draw/pass package.

Shep doesn't have half the arm Vick had or a quarter of the passing skills of Brees, those aren't fair comps.
