Fargas pisses me the frick off. In fact she's by far my least favorite coach at LSU right now. It's blatantly obvious she didn't even make a halfass attempt at recruiting for 3 years.

With that said, she's not going anywhere. they'll probably make the tournament and maybe even be top 25 next season. it sucks this is the culture she's created, but it is what it is. she needs another big recruiting class for me to warm up to this momentum, because we're starting to load up on pathetic losses. otherwise I look forward to her hopping on that harley and getting tf out of Baton Rouge.

eta: I'll give her this. she really knows what she's doing, but being that fricking lazy on the recruiting trail is beyond unacceptable. If I actually attended the women's games, I'd be insulted for wasting my time.

This program desperately needs talent, we need consecutive classes of what we just signed. This team literally is Mondrief and Jackson just hitting outside jumpers, we need more scorers. We also need better post play! If we want any chance of reaching the next level, elite post play is a must!

They're going to have to deal with the men side so I think she gets a pass just because of that at least for 1 year.
She doesn't get a pass.

I'm sick of the Mediocrity Acceptance in LSU Athletics.

Darling Nikki should be "Ancient History" by now, (Should've been released two years ago) along with Jones. (Should've been shown the door after last season)

Both in way over their heads and only still here because of the current AD's incompetence, negligence and low standards of excellence...................

I have no sources, but my parents are long-time season ticket holders. A friend of theirs has some connection in the AD with whoever is in charge of women's basketball (not Alleva, the Asst AD). They were told earlier in the season that it didn't really matter what happens this year, that she was not going to be here next year. I don't know the context of that conversation or the veracity of it. For all I know Fargas told them she's tired of LA and is leaving after this season. Or it could all be a load of crap. Just some anecdotal information. Take it for what it's worth (not much).

I really don't think she is Getting fired this season. I don't see Alleva getting rid of both basketball coaches this season. Its pretty apparent she literally gave no effort what so ever recruiting the past 4 four years. Its pretty tellin when shittier SEC programs are brining in better players than we are. The top players in our own state don't even have us in the big picture, this past year and this coming year we have lost out on the only elite player in the state to Baylor and to FSU.

I will give credit to this class coming in but this in coming class alone isn't going to warm me up to her, if she wants me to warm up to this, she needs consecutive years of solid recruiting. I just don't understand how half the players on this roster has a scholly to play here.

We will see but if I was an AD, I really wouldn't be pleased with the effort that has been shown thus far.

I call utter bullshite. Even with the recent losses, they are still solidly in the NCAA tournament....it would take a loss tomorrow and a one and done at the SEC Tournament to put them in danger. And with Moncrief, Mitchell, and Jackson returning next year and the 5 star big kid from NJ coming, they should be even better next year.

If she leaves on her own, then so be it, but I don't see that happening. And who fires a coach who goes to the NCAA tourney the year after they won 10 games with an injury-filled roster?

Yea this administration isn't goin to fire her. But there are a couple rumors about her that she isn't happy with her job here. She apparently thinks there isnt any talent in the state to work with

I wouldn't argue that. I know they didn't get the two kids who went to Baylor, but as a whole, I'm not sure there is enough talent in Louisiana to go around. Still, she has been able to create a winning roster this year with out of state talent...so I don't see her just packing up and leaving.

Could be but if that is true how do gymnastics and softball continue to get better and better without many Louisiana girls on the roster? It takes less basketball players than either of those two. How many top Louisiana players do you have to get in a single year to have a great class?

I think she is incredibly unhappy in this position and looking for a way out and maybe winning this year will get her in position for another job that she thinks fits her better.

The not enough talent in state is a copout and a bunch of BS. Beth Torina and DD recruit nationally and do it well. She isn't working hard at all trying to get these players

I agree 100% here tigerbait. Gal can coach but she half-assed recruiting so long that merely a top 20 recruiting class for a program that not that long ago went to 5 straight Final Fours is being lauded as turning the corner.

She is one of the top 10 paid coaches in the women's game and we're not getting near that productivity. Asking accountability for that is more than reasonable IMHO.

Wow, so there's actually some smoke to the idea she's going to leave?

If she really is frustrated about instate talent, would someone show the stupid bitch a map and explain that Texas borders our state?

Texas is loaded with talent, surprised we don't recruit better there too.

If you don’t care about WBB, fine, ignore this post
That is the issue though. Very few give a crap about WBB and it doesn't make any money. In fact, it loses the most money of any sport on campus. You don't get to fire your coach for being average if you lose $4 mil annually. Suck it up and withstand the average throughout her contract. We don't have money for WBB to pay a buyout and lose $5 mil a year.

Can't really compare recruiting across those sports, especially DD.
Now I've said for years we should be recruiting more in Texas. I think Richard-Harris is our first Texas recruit since Destini Hughes.
