re: So we're going to head into next season with nothing changed on special teams?

Rumor is that BDP is contemplating big changes...
He is considering switching to a vinegar base Texas style BBQ sauce. Miles is leery of the change because he has grown accustomed to sugar based Kansas City style and he's not sure the change is really warranted. Cam said he didn't care as long as the rib rub stays the same.
Aleeva is remaining uncommitted to the change. He basically is going to give BDP one chance to prove the new sauce. If all goes well it will be added to his contract to provide both Texas style and Kansas City style at all BBQ. If it goes bad I heard some rumbling they might try a Carolina style mustard sauce but that seems real risky at this point.

We lacked depth at lb, which is essential for coverage team. We will have 6 or so outstanding freshmen athletes covering kicks. And the speed on that coverage team will allow us to kick deeper.

Do you have any idea how stale, trite and downright stupid the damn BBQ reference is? I understand that there is no way that you can ever be clever or entertaining, but at least try to be original.
Now get back to work before those fries burn.

While I agree, the one that grinds my gears is the "Miles has lost control" comments. It wasn't even a Miles comment first. It was stolen from Richt.

It's okay, we can still win 9-10 games.

As long as we don't change the way we block for kickoff returns, I'm all aboard the pain train. Gotta love breaking 4 tackles to get it to our own 20-yard line
Funny thing is, as good as Clemson is we sure don't want their special team coach. We don't even know if he can recruit. That's apparently the only thing Peveto has going for him is that he can recruit.

That's absolutely horseshite. They lost because they didn't cover the tight end.
That, ST, and clock mismanagement.

I can also say that without an interception, Clemson pulls away. Saying that special teams cost them the game is stupid
I wouldn't say stupid. It cost them, but so did letting the tight end run free.

That seems to be acceptable to a lot of posters.

The offense won't be changed either
I'm sure you won't mind spilling the beans on which position coach you are on offense to know this. Right UncleF-uckus?

and then lost the NCG because of it
Yeah it wasn't the multiple blown coverages on defense that allowed a rarely used tight end to set a Bama receiving record that night to give them most of their TD's. No..... That couldn't have been why they lost.

i'm going to put on my purple and gold glasses and hope: Gamble can kick the ball to the end zone, new punter is improved and won't have to punt as often, DJ Chark starts returning punts, and Guice picks up right where he left off.

I do not buy the recruiting hype built around Peveto. Just don't see it
Sorry to say it, but you don't know recruiting. His dad is a South Texas high school football legend. Both of his brothers coach football there also. I know he is a sub-par ST coach, but the Peveto name carries a lot of weight in South Texas

Can we talk about week one first

Sweet, awesome. I'm sure we can make it through the whole season just pooching it on the kickoffs.
Peveto is still asking for too much $ for the incriminating photos

new punter
I am really hoping that Arnada takes over LBs and Peveto only focuses on ST
he was the STCO 2005-2007 right? we were terrible then

Thanks for that response.
It is one of the few attempts at actually determining if there is a factual basis for the opinion that BDP is an exceptional recruiter.
The article rating recruiters doesn't even mention proven, national caliber recruiters on the LSU staff, whose results we can SEE every year (Wilson, Orgeron, for example), so it is counterintuitive and facially suspect.
I accept your assertion that Peveto is a good name in South Texas.
Who has BDP recruited from that area we would not have gotten otherwise?

"Yea, the reason I de-committed from LSU is because of the uncertainty of Bradley Dale Peveto. With them moving him to another spot on the staff and hiring of a new special teams coordinator, it was just too much."
exactly.
Yes, players want to play for coaches, but a lot of times they want to play for the school. Why do you think most colleges get most of their guys from in-state. Kids grew up as fans of their school and want to go there.
Another example is Jacob Eason from Washington state, top QB recruit in the nation. Recruited by Richt at UGA and kept his commitment to Georgia even after Richt was fired and Kirby Smart brought in an entirely new staff.
A final thought - do you not think it's the slightest bit dishonest for a school to use a coach to recruit a player, and then fire the coach after Signing Day? Seems dirty to me.
