So we're going to head into next season with nothing changed on special teams?

Sweet, awesome. I'm sure we can make it through the whole season just pooching it on the kickoffs.

The good news is Keehn finally won't be the punter. That guy was a mess. Let's always remember that for every Brad Wing there are 100 Jamie Keehns.

As long as we don't change the way we block for kickoff returns, I'm all aboard the pain train. Gotta love breaking 4 tackles to get it to our own 20-yard line.

Or getting lit up 5 consecutive times by Bama's fullback. Ugh.

With national signing day less than a month away and the special teams coach is also the primary recruiter for several key committed players in a #1 ranked recruiting class, you believe the smart thing to do is fire that coach now?

Put our best players on kickoff coverage.

In 2011, some of our best players played on that unit. Yes, it's dangerous and risks injury.

But if special teams continues to be an issue, we have to put better players out there.

No, you move Peveto's arse somewhere else on the coaching staff and bring in somebody to coach special teams that knows what the frick they're doing?

Let Peveto work with LB's and bring back T-Mac.

My world got turned upside down when Bama beat someone with superior special teams. Saban must have highlander'd Miles special teams acumen.

Again, do you think NOW is the right time to do that?

Or maybe, just maybe, should Miles wait until after national signing day and we secure written commitments from some players first before we give them some doubts about the future of their recruiting contact coaches?

The offense won't be changed either, why hire good coaches when you can hire good buddies

ETA: you can't just move BDP to LB coach and hire a new guy for special teams

I do not buy the recruiting hype built around Peveto. Just don't see it.
His coaching prowess, of lack thereof, is readily apparent.
He should go.
Again.

"Yea, the reason I de-committed from LSU is because of the uncertainty of Bradley Dale Peveto. With them moving him to another spot on the staff and hiring of a new special teams coordinator, it was just too much."

frick that. Athletes aren't the issue. Could you imagine the melt and national media crucification of LSU if LF got hurt on a kickoff?

The issue is that dumbass squib kick, not staying in our lanes and a punter with a vagina.

No one is selling it to you.

His value is his contact with and trust by high school coaches in Louisiana and Texas.

If you believe that's not important, that's okay, too.

Yeah, because I think Fournette should be on kickoffs.

Worked very well in the bowl game. However, I agree you would hope you wouldn't have to use it.

Can't believe I'm agreeing with you about something

I honestly don't even know if the special teams coaching was that bad or if we just didn't have the talent that we usually have

We're not really losing anyone we could utilize on special teams this year and we're bringing in some talented freshman guys that can play ST

And the ST did improve toward the end of the year....
