So was pretty much everyone in the stadium cheering for Miles?

I always thought the rant is a reflection of the overall LSU fanbase. But it really did feel like a majority of the people in that stadium wanted him to stay. Can someone who was there share observations?

I sat next to a lot of people that were ready to move on from him. I want to move on but I cheered loudly for him. I don't know how to interpret what I saw tonight.

I think people were more so just cheering to thank him.

But then again, the "We Want Les" chant suggests otherwise

Is it that difficult to understand that people were acknowledging his tenure here an not necessarily supporting his return next season?

Majority of people cheering for him in our section did it out of respect because they assumed it was his last game in Tiger Stadium.

Is it that difficult to understand what 'we want Les' means?

I do not think this is true. The average fan doesn't get involved in message boards, they work all week and look forward to seeing a game on sat.

Again, Jake. The crowd was chanting for Les to stay.

We all cheered - I think many cheered him as one who was leaving.

Student section and some areas were chanting "we want Les".

I mean, shoot, we cheer when the injured guy from the other team gets up too, but that's just to be polite...

I mean if a lot of fans expected this to be his last game what did you expect them to do?

Our dipshit students with short attention spans led the chants.

Some people were cheering in appreciation of his time at LSU and for a proper send off.

Some people were cheering for him to stay.

It was no unanimous consensus opinion like the pumpers on this board would have you believe.

Not say 'we want Les'. What happened in that stadium today has a lot to do with the fact that Les is still here. I'm convinced of it.

Some were, not all. Even if 35% of the crowd chanted it, it would be loud.

most of them were 9ish when he was hired. They have literally known him as the LSU head coach for almost as far back as their brains can remember.

Yes. We were. Players carried him off the field. It was glorious.

Well, it had an impact on the narrative, that's for sure.

Healthy mix of those who want him to stay, those are who are afraid of "the way it was before", and those who don't really know anything.

I was ready to move on, but would have cheered the man....sooooo
