you're "feeling" ignores about a hundred years of north vs south Louisiana friction and it has nothing to do with ULL folk any more than other south or north la. towns.

it stems from north la. being Baptist catholic haters and considering Cajuns as inferior and hating the wide open and free wheeling city of new Orleans. and then the south la. side that the "northerners" are all hicks and should be in Arkansas anyways.

believe it or not, Shreveport and Baton Rouge used to be big competitors and hated each other, esp from the Shreveport natives. to this day, Shreve's ville business's shy away from "doing business" with new Orleans companies.
