Wow...Nice confidence builder by the coach once again for these young men playing a college sport...First you need to be a motivator and great communicator to start as a Coach....I could be wrong but look around at other colleges and the pros...I don't see any of those qualities in Coach O with these statements...Kids will quit on him and recruits read the press will stay away.... Coach O keep it in house and be positive in the Public...

You guys want accountability but in the same breath you call it throwing them under the bus.

ETA not an O supporter anymore but just throwing this out there.

Players get held accountable by their coaches on the practice field or locker room...privately. Not thrown under the bus by their coach on his radio show

In O's defense, he's not wrong.

At the same time, that can't be good for team morale. It seems like the team has come out consistently uninterested in the game, soft, tired, listless, and unmotivated. I'm not sure if I should file this under frank honesty from a coach or an example of the coach losing his team or what.

I don’t blame the players for being pissed. Your head coach does not do that publicly.

This’ll get worse.

I hope our recruiting class is abysmal. If you are being recruited to LSU right now.. GO TO FLORIDA OR ALABAMA

The coach should never say that about his team. I remember even Curley wouldn't throw his teams talent level in the excuse hopper.

How refreshing for a head coach to say out loud what everyone else is already thinking. He tells the truth! So much better than the double speak, coach speak, Les Miles and others like Saban who just berates the press when they ask a tough question. He got a tough question and told the truth. Kudos to him.

Holding a player accountable for not performing is one thing but you don't come out in the media and make those comments about your players. We have a sophomore and freshman kicker with very little experience. It's obvious they are not ready for the spot light. It's all about confidence and he provides none. I hope he likes that style because the fan base sure as hell has no confidence in him.

What is wrong with him? Seriously.

Is that little guy in his head that's supposed to vet thoughts before he verbalizes them on a permanent boudin break or something?

Are people not seeing it? This is O's way of trying to make sure he isn't fired after this season. His TRUE thoughts are everyone on this team sucks, so it's not my fault. You have to give me time to recruit! A surprising excuse coming from a guy who has ostensibly been the primary recruiter for 3 years.

The team quit on O 3 games into the season. I guess that's what happens when you tell anyone who will listen that the players aren't any good (except for all of the True Freshman who he GLADLY takes all the credit for)
