To answer your question, you need to ask Alleva. He's the one that had 2+ months to round up a Jimbo or Herman and blew it. If you add the extra money that he is paying the coordinators to O's salary, it comes out to +/- 5.5 million dollars. So, yes, the money was there.

There are six regular-season games and an SEC tournament game left. What could you possibly hope to gain from those seven games that would carry over to next season?

Do you or any of the other idiots who post this shite not care about your performance at work? Do you not see your performance as improving or diminishing the success of your employer? After all, success by the organization is necessary for you to continue to have your job.
Granted that Alleva's PR skills leave a lot to be desired.
He may make a good hire and he may not. Coaching hires are a crap shoot. Don't you think Auburn assumed they hit a home run with Bruce Pearl. How about everyone who wanted Anthony Grant? Did he pan out for Alabama? Remember, he was going to succeed Billy D when Donovan almost took the Orlando job.
You can say Alleva sucks all you want but to say he "doesn't care" or is "stupid" is childish.
