So Joe Alleva is no longer guaranteeing that A&M will be a Saturday Night.

when it's played in Baton Rouge. What a frigging worm, heard this morning on 104.5 him trying to backtrack and blame it on CBS. I really can't understand how A&M can demand their home game be played on Thanksgiving night (Never will be on CBS), but ours is subject to the whims of CBS. Other than the bye week prior to the last game, what benefit do we get?

Well they have a contract; but don't let that stop you from being ignorant.

Yea, he's done a great job with that. The home slate is so putrid that there's no game CBS would want to put on at 2:30 (save for the Bama game where they have the primetime slot).

Ok, but where in the contract does it exclude games when they're at A&M? CBS has to take their medicine and not select the game when it's played there.

I'm with you man. Get out of that damned CBS contract. Go it alone. Who wants or needs all of that television money?

LSU stands up to the big money lords.

That has nothing to do with him, it's that we're a little down and there are other SECW teams people want to see this year. If this were a normal year, we'd be on CBS at least twice.

Care to explain how A&M can demand the Thursday night game and CBS doesn't blink an eye?

It doesn't. But CBS and ESPN and aTm and LSU all agreed to have the game on Thanksgiving in 2014.

LSU refused to make such an agreement in 2015 because we would like to have the chance at a Sat night game.

CBS was willing to concede to the agreement because they would most likely be taking the Iron Bowl.

And sucks for our fans because it's too late at night to be able to stay for the whole game.

I'm not a Bama conspiracy guy like some folks on here, but do you remember Nick Saban throwing a fit about the Iron Bowl being on a Friday. Low and behold the next year it was LSU-Arkansas again.

It doesnt have anything to do with what day the games are played on. CBS has I think two prime time options per year. They get to say- which games those are. If there is no prime time slot open for our game, then we are shite out of luck.

Why is Joe Alleva agreeing to play on Thanksgiving night? I couldn't care less that A&M and Texas used to play on Thanksgiving night. Joe Alleva should have told A&M and the SEC to go kick rocks.
