Well, I'm not a religious man, but if there's ever such a thing as miraculous divine intervention in this world it's been sound offensive execution from the LSU Tigers under Miles. It may be coachable, but under these guys you better hope your players won the genetic lottery or that your god's smiling on you, 'cause if not...

Like tigerpawl says, guaranteed cash...

Miles has nothing to lose...except his job. Even then, he'll be sitting pretty with a huge buyout.

So, unless he decides to start ferrying around young tarts on his motorcycle, LSU is stuck with him.

True. And let me say that Alleva is not going to fire Miles unless he has a couple of 6 loss seasons in a row. And that ain't happening because it goes back to Miles is going to make sure that LSU wins just enough to keep his job and retire.

We might be like minded blokes but I don't know how you can be so savory towards miles and co. His background is offense which he's done a terrible job of coaching the last 5 years no question. I'm not the one who offered this guy an extension because fricking arkansas called. I personally would have laughed in his face and said ar kansas really? I don't think I or the unhappy fans should be the ones to pay for the mess of others. Let Alleva chip in his salary.

Coach Miles's scientific approach to off-season improvement takes time. Isaac Newton did not invent Calculus in a day. No. That's because mathematical, statistical and scientific analysis takes time.

Coach Miles may have need of the SuperComputer on campus, and there is a waiting list to use that.

So, let's be patient and have confidence.

You can rest assured that success is assured. There is a want to attain the highest levels of success, but, you don't get there simply by having WANT, you have to combine that with a scientific approach.

Since you really want to know. Do you remember 08? If so he had those same 2 qbs for 4 of the 5 years you are talking about.

On to the 5th year of problems. First and foremost, Miles was not going to have a repeat performance of 08. When the injuries started mounting on offense and the offense started struggling Miles packed it in to protect the players.

This is just my opinion, but I really think Miles sees nothing wrong with the scheme and sees it as players not executing properly. But when the offense is a problem for 5 straight seasons, it's clearly not the players.

I tend to agree. If this is the case and these players can't execute a 5 play offense, you might want to look at who you are recruiting.

What makes you think a new OC would change anything? Our offense has been shitty since 2009 under 2 (3 if you count Krags) different OCs. It's obvious that Les is calling the offensive shots. Unless he's willing to give control of the offense up to someone, the next person will be the scapegoat just like the last 2 (or 3).

I may be in the minority, but I think this offense if executed properly can succeed. I think we left a lot of plays on the field. Dropped balls, blown blocking assignments. Fumbles.

I think we can get it going next year. If not I think stud is gone.

I hear the athletic department has all their resources focused on replacing the fan base. It's a glaring need.

Start of the season the O line had a problem with pass protection, the QB wasn't picking up blitzes and making poor throws, the WR's were dropping more passes than they were catching and the TE's couldn't catch a cruise missle.

Most of the Oline went down with injuries and the young players performed quite well expect for the bowl game. Mett improved on his blitz pickup but still made the occasional bad throw, and the WR and TE play improved dramatically.

Maybe all hope is not lost yet. While not a well oiled machine the offense is light years better than Crowton's over complicated turd.

This years O put up more yards than any since 07 and averaged bout 35 yds less a game than the 06 team, 15 yds less a game than the 04 team, and 35 yds less a game than the 03 team.

The LSU D gave up more yds than any since 08. Well, the 2010 and this yrs. D yds given up were bout the same.

With a big WR threat we can open up a bit. Our current wide outs improved but we need a true big #1 wide out. It's sucks but I think they were protecting there 1st year starter. We threw the ball alot more this year than the last 2. I think the passing 3 straight downs in the bowl game might be the answer u all have been asking for. I didn't like the play call but it showed the staff is getting confident in mett. The more confident they get in him the more they will let him do. It was his first year starting and didn't get much help early in the year to
Build his confidence.

If Dural doesn't get hurt in fall camp, this is a different offense. If he would have caught half of the 1 to 2 yard overthrown deep balls we are talking about a different season.

I believe he believes that the ONLY problem is having a 1st year QB in SEC and that the players are not executing. His game plans are almost perfect in his mind. Nothing will change. Absolutely nothing. We're becoming a Georgia, like the poster said.

Yep, him and Faulk not getting hurt probably means we play and win the BCS national championship.

We were so close and people are calling for heads to roll. I almost want Les to leave just so the program can go to crap.
