Also, Coker won it all in year 1 then went backwards. Miles has been progressing since year 1 (#5, #3, #1)…

was skimming to se if anyone made this point yet. Cokers teams got progressively worse, Miles have gotten better. it took a few years to unteach what saban messed up, but once he did that we were good.

(joking, of course)

No...Miles was addressing a bunch of boosters who paid money to hear him poke fun and our rivals... Jay in on the airwaves, ranting like some bratty momma's boy who's mad on the playground at recess...not that I care about what he said....

They did the same thing. Les was talking to LSU fans and Jay was talking to Bama fans. Miles did similar on the air waves with Jim Rome and at press conferences. It isn't a big deal.

and your comparison with Weis does NOT apply to Coach Miles because no one considered him the "savior", but he turned out to be very successful and win like NO ONE else ever has in Baton Rouge..

My point was that people are treating Miles like ND was treating Weis. Weis wasn't seen as a savior until he had a killer first season and won that from the fans. Miles was given that honor after winning a NC.

quote:

But it does compare nicely to your coach, because his arrival looked like some film footage of the Beatles last tour, but he has produced nothing but the promise of a struggling process, and a bunch of new rap sheets....

He's been there a year and came in with poor talent by SEC standards. I'm thinking I'll give him some time.

Uhhh, no. Not really. Les made one off the cuff remark as a joke... Jay Barker Evans went on a whiney tirade that even caused his co-host to express some doubts about the comments... were you even listening to the show yesterday??

And Miles has had 3 successful seasons, with the most recent one being better than Weis has ever had.. not a strong argument for your point. Like I said, it took all 3 of those seasons for a lot of LSU people to believe in Coach Miles, not just one. And then you have media goobs still saying they think Les is a retard... not at all like with Weis...

Why not?? The way things are going over there, it won't be long before EVERYONE is doing TIME!!

Pot/kettle. I'm fine with both. His co-host is from Auburn. They're supposed to disagree. It's why they put an Aub and Bama guy on the same show.

My only point is that if Miles has a few mediocre season, then the fans will turn. I don't know what to say if you don't believe that fans turn on coaches everywhere.

Perrilloux?

And

Two football players arrested on burglary charges

Ring any bells?

I was referring to Tony Curry, BTW (BOOM)

My point was NOT that people won't turn on any coach at any given time, it was that Les Miles is not now, and has not for the past three years been given the respect he deserves! Unlike the losers at Bama and ND......

The only bells that rings is the sound of the train leaving with our trouble as they are escorted off the team...

unlike at Tuscalooser where your suspension is lifted in an attempt to beat ULM.... and you play the whole season before ever seeing court for your arrest.

It's been nice, but I am weary with you...

Fact is that talent wins. When you have similar talent coaching is huge. Miles " crazy calls" last year is coaching. He knew MNC was the only way the season would be a succcess to LSu fan base and he did what it took to get the team there. Sure it took some luck but he also made some of the luck hapen.

You're obviously too blinded by purple and gold to have a real discussion. Look at all the universities right now, even LSU. They're all having players arrested. Just like these guys it took Jimmy Johns 2 minutes to be booted from the team. How long did it take RP?

I don't think Alabama or Saban is perfect. You seem to think LSU can do no wrong. If I had to guess who is blinded by loyalty and out of touch with reality, then I know where I'd put my money.

I would claim to be weary as well if I could only come up with childish attacks instead of meaningful points. Sorry to tire you dear.

Here's a point... What coach played a member of the team AFTER his arrest? What coach lifted a suspension mid-game against the mighty WarHawks?

RP had trouble, and I was always very wary of him...but he was never arrested... and he was dismissed anyway, as have any other players who are arrested..

No team is perfect... there are plenty of things at any school to be negative about...

but your initial comments about Coach Miles and comparisons to Wies are just not on track, nor are the comments about what Coach Miles said being no different from Jay Barker's on-air break-down...Those were my initial points, you just can't give it up.

Weis and Les are not the same coach. I just said they could have the same fate. I tend to think with all of his talent and an easier schedule Weis is going to have a great year.

As far as Barker's comments a radio host on Birmingham radio saying stuff about Les Miles is no more offensive than the quotes Miles has made in the past. He's made tons of pokes and even dropped the "f bomb."

Agree to disagree.

Sorry I was making the comparison to the two burglary guys.

RP is similar to what is happening with Prince Hall in Bama. He's been given so much rope that you wonder what is going on. Guys with talent get more rope. I don't disagree with how Les took care of the situation. I just see thugs on every team... even Vandy had an arrest. Vandy...

Of course, it was probably because he got in a scuffle and ripped someone's ascot.

There are a few ranters with similar names.

Or you're her buddy and getting her back as per the wedding post. On TD when you attack someone or say something bad about Bama... you're automatically right.

I think arwick is okay. He's just sticking up for his team and not just piling on LSU.

Not really... he did think that he knew you when he posted. Or at least if you look at the posts in a logical order.

Although I guess if you use logic then you're considered whiney.
