Coker had ridiculous talent every year he was there (top 15 classes every year, top 10 mostly). So this guy saying that in that sense I don't mind. However, Coker looked lost on the sidelines a lot and Miles doesn't. Now, if Miles lost a few games in a row would he get rattled; who knows? Only time will tell

This Bama writer may be onto something. LSU was ranked #5 at the end of Miles' first year, #3 at the end of his second year, #1 at the end of his third year. If Miles doesn't raise the Tigers another 2 spots in the poll this year, he will certainly be sinking the program.

The Bamers are so predicatable, they love to dish it out but can't take it. Bunch of titty babies.

I know everyone loves Miles now but coaching is a tough job. I'm not stating he's not a good head coach... I'm just pointing out that fans can turn on a guy very quickly.

Charlie Weis was the lord and savior of ND a couple years ago. Last year he was a punchline.

Who have you been listening to? It's just been recently that the LSU faithful have shown the respect to Miles that he deserves, and people like Jay Barker still treat him horribly...

and sorry to state the obvious, but your comparison to Weis is much better applied to your coach right now than ours.....

on the nashville show they also really held onto the fact they thought what lsu did last year had a lot to do with luck! they kept sayin that luck dont last forever and at some point you run out of it. am i crazy??? i dont think we were so much "lucky" during last year! what do yall think? yeah we had close games but to say we're lucky?? even if we were, why even bring that up?? i dont know, it just riled me up haha.

The fact is that LSU has top-notch facilities and great coaches (including Les). Those facilities and coaches bring in great recruits. Those great recruits bring lots of victories. Those victories lead to lots of money for LSU to continue to upgrade facilites, and the cycle starts over. And with LSU's large pool for talented players, even a slight drop in victories won't really affect recruiting. The way LSU is going right now, it would take a lot of things to happen for LSU to fall. And by the looks of things right now, that fall that these people are predicting will not come for a long time, if ever.

yeah we were lucky. but every team is lucky that wins it all these days. it takes more than luck, but luck is a part of it.

we could have just as easily been undefeated and injury-free with "luck". what team hasn't been lucky? did anyone jump on urban meyer for being lucky in 2006? this miles hate has gotten outta hand.

Jay Barker didn't treat him horribly. That is like saying that Les Miles treated Bama fans horribly by saying a little swipe to boosters. I'm sure Les is not too worried about what Jay Barker says... just like I'm not really worried about what Jim Rome says.

That comparison works for most coaches. The higher you are built up... the longer the fall is in rough times. Same in the NCAA, NBA, NFL, etc etc etc.

Also, Coker won it all in year 1 then went backwards. Miles has been progressing since year 1 (#5, #3, #1)…

LSU was like a four leaf cloved with a rabbit's foot jammed up it's arse last year. Not just in terms of gambling on high risk/high reward type plays during games, but most especially the way other teams seemed to lose right when LSU needed them to.

That loss at UK could have been an ender in other years. But last year? With everyone losing at the right time, LSU never seemed to fall too far. And of course, West Virginia choking on PITT was the be all end all of lucky.

That being said, LSU was the best and most deserving team in a very strange year last year...and that's all that counts.

No...Miles was addressing a bunch of boosters who paid money to hear him poke fun and our rivals... Jay in on the airwaves, ranting like some bratty momma's boy who's mad on the playground at recess...not that I care about what he said....

...I was only bring up Mr. Evans because you were insinuating that people "love" Coach Miles, and they most certainly all do not....

and your comparison with Weis does NOT apply to Coach Miles because no one considered him the "savior", but he turned out to be very successful and win like NO ONE else ever has in Baton Rouge..

But it does compare nicely to your coach, because his arrival looked like some film footage of the Beatles last tour, but he has produced nothing but the promise of a struggling process, and a bunch of new rap sheets....

I heard part of that idiot's rant on the radio here in Birmingham as well. He's well known for being anti LSU and he just can't stand Les Miles. I don't think he could give Les any credit even if he wins 10 more championships. He credits Saban with everything Les has accomplished so far, and feel that Les Miles is far and away the worst coach in the SEC. Any unbiased person can tell you that so called journalists like this guy should not be in the business.
