Or do we just ignore it since it doesn't fit the narrative of the wing nuts on here making every LSU issue a political fight and the fault of the "lib'ruls"?

"Ooooh! He's gonna give in to PETA!" etc. etc. etc.

quote:

For years, animal rights advocates have criticized LSU's decision to house a live tiger, urging the university to end the practice.

LSU President F. King Alexander defended the decision to continue to tradition on Wednesday. "Mike lives longer than most tigers in the wild. He has one of the best habitats in the world," Alexander said.

"And I think the educational value of Mike is underestimated." The tiger mascot, which he said is a major tourist attraction in the state, raises awareness about tiger conservation efforts around the globe.

Kaleb Faul, a sophomore, said he feels uncomfortable about replacing the live mascot.

"It sucks, because they keep him in a cage, and he's a wild animal," Faul said. "I don't think we should have a tiger to be honest."

This idiot probably believes we send a group of guys into the bush to snatch a wild tiger cub.

You know humans used to be wild animals too. I think our lives have improved significantly when we were domesticated. TBH I bet Mike loved being able to chill all day and not stress about his food and water and other predators. And he doesn't know it but his healthcare is obviously in the stratosphere compared to what he would get in the jungle.

frick Kaleb Faul. He's a pussy and needs his arse whipped. It's a good thing no one gives a rat's arse what he thinks LSU needs or doesn't need.

He probably hangs out in safe spaces all day. People don't realize that the tigers we would be using can't be turned back into the wild anyway. I guess most people are just stupid as frick.

Is it necessary to give credit for something he is suppose to do? Yes I'm happy he didn't screw it up.

Considering his superiors, the LSU Board of Supervisors, just gave him their highest marks and a standing ovation for the job he is doing, he had plenty choice.

I'm not saying you feel this way, and I don't agree with everything Alexander does, but those deluded souls who think a few folks bitching about FKA on a message board means revolution, all I have to say is, "get comfortable."

FKA isn't going anywhere--at least not anywhere that is not his choice.

He gets a ton of Credit.

in the past year he has had the balls to take the blame from our idiot fans for the failures of Alleva in the miles situation (See Georgia firing Richt to see how he could have handled it).

Now he is publicly stating that the mascot tradition will continue.

And if you think just a few message board posters would be the only ones upset about ending the tradition, then idk what to tell you.

I remember when the name "Caleb" emerged in the nineties, apparently misspelling with a "K" makes it edgier...
