So do Nebraska fans feel like they will ever rise again? Will we rise again?

The 80's and especially the 90's were an amazing run for their program. After the 2003 season, they fired Frank Solich after going 9-3. They made a bad hire to replace him and have been pretty bad in most years since then.

This sounds like our current situation at LSU. Do Nebraska fans believe that their nightmare will ever end? What do we have to do here at LSU in order for us to not endure that same nightmare for decades to come? This is a critical time in our program's history.

If they hire Miles they probably will.

ETA: And it's our best shot too honestly

Yep.

If we aren't paying Miles' buyout, paying O's becomes a no brainer.

Holy shite.. that thought never crossed my mind. So, I admittedly don't know much abt buyout clauses, paying them when fired, etc.. so if someone hires Miles, LSU is off the hook for the rest of his buyout?? So the payments to Les will stop if he's hired, correct?

We would have to make up the difference if his salary was less than what he would have made here.

But yeah, it would likely be a negligible amount.

He has contacts there with his son having been recruited. He's known well by the admin, and if anyone can recruit the Midwest and nationally at a school with the historical prestige that Nebraska has, it's CLM.

It would essentially seal O's fate

His salary will be deducted from the buyout.

So let’s say LSU owes him 10 million dollars. If another school gives him a contract totaling 9 million - lsu only has to pay the remaining one million.

It’s the fastest solution to getting rid of O.

I do not think so. LSU would pay the difference only ...at least that's how it usually works IMO

The State of Louisiana has exponentially more talent than Nebraska. They lost their national notoriety and have struggled since. We can recruit simply La., some, Miss., Tx. and Fla. and build a top 10 class every year.

Yeah no natural recruting base, ending partial qualifiers, and a crackdown on vitamin S did Nebraska in. They need someone with real chest to step up to the challenge.

Two things that will not happen this year or next
1) LSU winning the SEC or SEC West
2) Les Miles working as a coach in college football...or pro
