Answer my fricking question dickbag. How is driving 118mph in a car that doesn't belong to you ON A SUSPENDED OUT OF STATE DRIVER'S LICENSE not constitute an arrest? Is that legal in Oregon?

It's not legal in Oregon, but it is not an arrestable offense. I personally knew someone in college in Eugene who was arressted for going 40 miles over the speed limit with an expired (granted not suspended) license. He was not arrested, all that ahppened is that a licensed driver had to drive the car home.

My arguement for legalizing marijuana was always what would you rather have coming towards you on a 2 lane road late at night..

A. Guy drunk off his arse

B. Guy stoned out of his mind

Usually B has both hands on wheel driving 10mph less than speed limit....well the ducks completely fricked my arguement.

Damn, you say THAT like it's a bad thing.

So is it that y'all actually LIKE having to worry about cops?

In some states cops are seen like just about any other civil servent, and not so much like the Sheriff of Nottingham.

He didn't admit he was stoned, he admitted at some point he smoked pot. The cop gave him a field sobriety test which he passed, therefore the cop did not believe he was under the influence.

Answer my question about the suspended license please. TIA.

This has already been said many times last night and today. IN Oregon they do not arrest you for a suspended license. They just have your vehicle towed, unless their is a licensed driver present to drive it home. They can however arrest for felony suspended license. I honestly not sure exactly what that entails to be so. Perhaps if you did a felony crime while getting it suspended, and or are a felon with one suspended? Not sure. But for all the general cases, a guy could literally get a citation(fine and have to appear in court) for getting pulled over license suspended and a hour later, or day later, could get another one, and another one, and not be arrested for it. All that law and cops care about is A)someone present has a license who can drive it home. B) There is insurance on it. If A and B are not true they can and do Tow your vehicle.

Thus...
1)In Oregon driving while suspended is just a simple driving infraction, no arrest.
2)Speeding, however fast, unless it can be proven wreckless driving actually occurred is just a simple driving infraction, no arrest.
3)Small amounts of Pot are just a very tiny simple citation, no arrest.

So after the opening loss to LSU, can we expect the Schmucks to resume their efforts to unseat Miami as "Thugg U" ?

Obviously no one likes having to worry about cops but that's beyond reckless and dangerous, I would be scared shitless driving down the road in Oregon if everyone knew they could do whatever the hell they wanted and get away with it.

Why don't you try comparing accident records between Oregon and Louisiana and see which state you are more likely to be injured in an accident...?

Laws don't always make people safer - they tend to fill the jails more effectively, though.

This. Some laws are there to protect us. We have bad enough drivers when they are going 70 I really don't want them to think they drive 120.

As in per capita or just more wrecks? There's so many stipulations that can go into that.

Would you rather have a bunch of sober drivers near you or stoned drivers going 100+ miles an hour that have had their license suspended for some reason?

What are the odds the cop was stoned? I am guessing in Oregon pretty good.

Kind of easy when cops let your players go after they admit to smoking weed

Hey look, I have never done it, or any kind. So I am easily the opposite as a stoner. However, in Oregon law they have to have physical proof of it on you to bust you for it. Being high is not a offense in Oregon law unless you are high while operating a car or something. And the cop did a long eye test and talk the line test and easily passed it. Smelling weed is probable cause to search vehicle, and if you watched the video, you could tell they wanted to, but there was no on duty guy at that time with dogs and the cop said, "well, he has been stopped now for quite a while, but you know we cant keep him here until we can find a unit with dogs". And yes, they could of searched vehicle, but the cop seemed to trust their account and many times the boys offered to let them. And the tape ends, so we don't know if they ended up doing a hand search or whatever. The tape ends.

And actually the smartest thing Cliffy could of said was that"it was all already smoked". As in Oregon law, that right there protects you. I do know it sounds odd, but it is true. However, I Cliff is not the smartest guy on the block(actually one of the least smart) and one could tell Cliffy was just being honest with them and not trying to be cleaver. He got lucky, for his honesty saved his butt. Thus in Oregon, you are only caught, if they find it on you. That or you test high, and they do not do blood or piss tests for that with police.

So if all the speed limit and stop signs were taken down and no DWI law do you think driving in La. would be safer?

Well, auto insurance rates are WAY cheaper in Oregon, something that was immediately obvious when I moved here from Baton Rouge in 2002.

LINK

Though that probably has a lot more to do with higher rates of theft and uninsured motorists in Louisiana.

So all 3 combined in a car that it wasn't even legal for him to driving in the first place gets you sympathy in Oregon? Awesome...
