We lost something unprecedented on defense last year. Something I've never witnessed before.

We lost 5 guys who are starters as rookies on their NFL teams. That is insane! Duke Riley, Tre White, Jamal Adams, Kendell Beckwith, and Davon Godchaux.

So getting the defense up to speed is definitely a process, but it appears we're getting there now.

Bare cupboard is and always has been the wrong way to describe it and something only the Rantards can deduce after the coaches saying they have a very YOUNG team, which they do. Their's lots of inexperience all over the field, that does not mean a lack of talent.

Nope. It means they will make a great play one moment and then a bonehead mistake the next.

No depth and not enough size on the O-Line.

Thank Lester for that. In a couple of years we will be where we should be on both lines - size and numbers.

Hope that helps your day.

LSU played something like 27 or more true and RS freshmen.

The cupboard is bare talk is legit. When you are playing that many freshmen, you haven't developed depth. LSU has tons of talent, yes, but so much of that talent is young. Both lines are talented, but thin as Charmin.

We have one LEGIT LB in White who's been able to play the whole season. Key is still not the Key of old. We have freshmen and converted safeties playing the other LB spots.

Our only two WRs with any experience are Chark and Gage. The others are first-year and second year players.

Is there talent? Yes, of course, but the talent needs experience to be able to fulfill its potential. Our guys are just now getting that experience.

Depth? sure. Size? Those are some big dudes. They are young. But then again, maybe they should have been playing more from the beginning.

So, the book on O won't be written for at least three years, if the haters give him that long.

He said he learned from Ole Miss not to meddle and the first thing he did was??? meddle so we now know he learned zero from the debacle we all laughed at when he was there. What book are you waiting to read cuz I’m reading the one out now and it ain’t good.

Add that to our normal SEC schedule, and that SOS is brutal.

Actually, what happened were we had certain key players on defense that got hurt and were unable to play and we didn't have the depth to replace those key players adequately. Thus, we ended up getting blown away by Moo State and loss to Troy.

As has been stated before...a couple of guys being out does not excuse those 2 losses. You can legitimately use that excuse for upper tiered SEC games.

But LSU should be able to beat Troy with ALL backups...and not get blown out by Miss St. Its just not a valid argument.

"We just saw first hand that this roster has the talent to match up against even very good top 10 teams. The players are there."

It depends on what you mean, but I will say "no" to what I believe was the gist of your post. For one thing, we were missing crucial players, some of whom we had back for the wins over Auburn and/or Florida. It still would have been ugly but the Tigers don's lose to Troy with Guice and Lawrence out there. Also, just look at the incredible number of freshmen we've played. Those kids are supposed to get better as the year progresses, but it's not a mere excuse to observe how many green players we are trotting out there. So, while the cupboard was never truly bare, we absolutely had/have some holes in the roster due to some recruiting misses, player retention problems, injuries, or youth. On the plus side, this team is getting better right before eyes, and with some good, focused recruiting and development, the Tigers could be scary good within 2 years.

There is a ton of talent, and the starting line up isn't the issue. Depth was hurt buy a number of players being run off for whatever reason, especially on the OL.

Attrition isn't without reason, and that is where O should be held accountable. Why did all those players leave? Outside of Tuehema, the others made no sense.

No offense, but if your coach is good, this won't matter and will not affect recruiting. O is just not that good of a coach, and it's obvious to anyone with a brain.

That said, we have good coordinators and for the most part good position coaches, so that can cover up for a lot of those issues.

what would make you think that the talent was bare? Have you been paying any attention to the recruiting rankings for the last 10 years. I did not hear anyone of the coaches use this for an excuse. If anyone else did it does not mean shite anyway.

The real issue with this team in September was Eauxf. He severely hampered his coordinators by wasting August with short and light practices (which did not, as he later admitted, include watching more film,). And then he directly hampered Canada by meddling.

The team has been overcoming the Eauxf Factor, to their credit.

As many of us have said, it was never a talent issue.

Which means absolutely nothing. Do you legtimately think UF is a top 25 team right now?

No, they had all hands on deck for the D-line. If LSU has an injuries on the D-line then they are in trouble.
