Sure. Which is why I'd want him for a game 3! Most pressure will be in that game. Tonight, all the pressure is on MSU. Pitch Walker.

Game 3, all the pressure will be on walker

The problem is that you assume there will be a game 3

Didn't Poche only have 1 earned run last game out? Pitch your veteran leader Poche all day people.

Why not prepare for the worst?

Pitch Walker tonight with little pressure. Let the bats go to work against State. If something goes wrong, you have poche vs their 3rd starter in game 3.

That's how I would do it. Walker is hot.

The thought of Poche in an elimination game scares me

Win tonight and there is no game three. If we lose, Walker is still good enough to win tomorrow. If we didn't have a legit 3rd starter, then maybe consider that. But under these current circumstances, you go in to win tonight.

The Les Miles thought process...play the upperclassmen even though they may not as good as the underclassmen.

Les Miles played more freshman than any other big time football program in the country during his time you dope.

Exactly! We do not want a game 3 I don't care what the pitching matchup is!!

I think you give Poche the start. Strategically, he's been there and has performed well in pressure situations like this in the past.

It's been a while, but we can't ignore the yips game in Omaha.

Poche has a chance to tie all time wins and send us to the CWS. I'd start Poche.

This is the correct mindset. Having said that, if it should come to game 3, LSU has the pitching staff to cover.

Just like his last 2 starts that he absolutely dominated.

I agree with all of this. Poche right now has a shorter leash, so him starting game 3 and having the bullpen ready to work is the best option for the team.

There is no scenario that Poche doesn't start another game. If LSU wins tonight tgrn he starts in Omaha. If LSU loses tonight then he starts tomorrow. Either way he will start again and have a chance to tie the record.

Poche is the better pitcher

Maybe, but his ERA is 4.87 over his last 61 innings.

walker has been pitching better than Poche of late. That really isn't debatable

That's why I would throw him tonight. When is the starter announced?
