They can send SC to the Gator Bowl.

Definitely a possibility. No way the Cotton Bowl wants SC.

Me too, but the Cotton will take UGA/Bama over LSU

They would definitely take Bama over us. However, I'm not sure that they would take Georgia, which may be irrelevant because the Outback would likely take Georgia off the board before Cotton picks.

SCar just played Clemson last week. They will NOT be going to the Chick bowl to play Clemson. Aint happening. Neither will UGa. They start next year with Clemson

Next years schedule has nothing to do with this years bowl selection.

You don't understand how these things work if you really believe this. I'm not saying it is a definite because of next years schedule, but it certainly is a factor.

we are going to the Cotton - this has been in the Austin American Statesman all week. They do not want Bama because Bama played there earlier this year. Ga will go to the Outback if they lose.

So the Bay Area weather had nothing to do with the game's attendance? Bama wins, LSU to Cotton. Book it.

Ok, then explain how it factors.

They are playing next year regardless. I dont see the bowl committees sorting this out saying "Well guys, these two are out because they are playing each other next year. Cant have that"

I dont see the effect that next year has on this years bowls

Especially a SC and Clemson matchup.

So if OU loses to TCU, they are going to the Cotton right?

In the case of SC and Clemson, they just played, so ticket sales would suffer if they were paired again. TV viewership could also be affected.

In the case of UGA and Clemson, the schools wouldn't be very interested in the matchup, so they'll lobby against it. This is a much more complicated process than the bowls simply going down the list and taking turns picking.

They will actually decline the invite and negotiate with another bowl

They can lobby all they want. If Baylor holds on and beats OSU, it will be Texas to the Cotton Bowl. The Cotton Bowl would be 10x more excited about a LSU/Texas matchup than Georgia/Texas matchup.
