It is a completely different game than when Skip coached.

You're right

The best college baseball coach in history probably would not have lost that game

Astute observation.

How? By going with two pitchers per inning?

Not fair to compare any coach to Skip. He was special and seemingly every big decision came up roses for him. Some say he had a horseshoe up his arse.

Maybe Mainieri can go dig that horseshoe out of his arse. Skip doesn't need it anymore.

Should have put a mic on skip tonight. Would have loved to see what he had to say.

He said "Everyone in the fricking stadium knew Bain was done. Paul was the only one who didn't."

Or so my lip reading friend tells me.

This is true.

However,
i like to think that if Skip would have been coaching in the same period that Paul has, he would have made the right decisions at the right times to win the game played today.

Skip would have made sure all of his players were on steroids.

I don't remember any LSU team under Skip Bertman being good at small ball

I remember when Skip would huddle the guys up outside the dugout when the chips were down and team needed a spark. You knew we were going to make a game out of it and probably walk away with the victory.

Have to get over that. We are still top 5 program.
