This is exactly right. CPM team base running has been a disaster since he has been here regardless of who the third base coach has been. We have always blamed the third base coach but really now we know it is all on CPM. They are getting their que from him. All of these 3rd base coaches aren't that bad. They are doing what he wants. Just like having slower than dirt players attempting to steal 2nd base. Regardless of the player on 1st CPM does not hesitate to send him. Unlike other teams who have players that can steal because they are fast. We just indiscriminately send anyone. It's not the players, it's not the third base coach, it's CPM.

So, according to the opinions of all the experts here, CPM sucks at developing a major college pitching staff, he sucks at teaching hitters to hit in clutch situations, he sucks at game management, and now, he sucks at teaching runners how to run the bases. Hard to believe this same coach was 2 games away from winning the SEC this yr after winning 18 league games & won it last yr. And is in the college baseball HOF.

The right fielder was worried about the wall too much. Most situations that would be caught and thrown back in. He was back peddling and looked silly trying to catch that ball and he just missed it. I had a pretty good vantage point. I'm not sure Cole could tell what was happening. That said I would have been half way to 3rd on that play.
