Notable comments:

Opened by saying PM did a fantastic job this year.

Freeman should have scored in the situation with one out. Half to go half way to third. Difficult to see if ball was going to be caught, but should have gone half way. No liability on Cain as the runner cannot hear him with noise and his position on the field.

Agreed, this team has terrible base runners. They dont have a great second instinct.

So what he is saying is the lack of coaching fundamentals attention to detail prevented Freeman from being able to make the right decision. So it wasn't a fantastic coaching job after all.

Funny thing about this situation is that if Freeman goes half way and the ball is caught he then has to retreat back to second before tagging, and possibly doesn't get to third....what he did was guarantee himself an advance.... Just think of the bashing that would be going on here had he not advanced to third because he had too much ground to cover for a tag up....i thought it was a decent decision on a ball that likely should have been caught, but then again I don't know nearly as much as all the hindsight coaches on here

Are we sure this interview was really with Skip, and not Ronnie Rantz pretending to be Skip?

The RF was running full speed toward the wall with his back to the infield. Freeman should've been a few steps off the bag. If the RF catches the ball and all his momentum going away from the infield, Freeman easily could've gotten back to 2nd and tagged with his speed.

This.
Also, what does it matter if Cole Freeman is on 2nd or 3rd with 2 outs, assuming he catches it? It will take a base hit for him to score regardless. The only negative is missing the chance of scoring on a past ball.

Skip said he was asked his advice by an out of conference AD at a convention on how to build a program. Only Skip could answer this way: "build a baseball stadium that looks like a baseball stadium. Put it on a corner. Hire a coach that you can fire ( make him feel the pressure of winning/losing was the implication)." Said all his StarkVegas jokes were directed at his "50 yr long good friend" Ron Polk. In answering a question, said that Sullivan has it better at Fla than he would at UT. Asked what UT had to offer better? Said that with the quality of the league's coaching now, combined with the team's inexperience, he felt that CPM did one of his best coaching jobs ever. Said he gets asked all the time, when on the radio: "is this really you or is it Rance?".

you don't know how coaching (teaching) works. you can teach, but the material must be LEARNED. only the student can do that. additionally, in sports there's the added confusion of the thrill and excitement of the moment. mistakes happen no matter the quality of the teaching.

you not knowing this proves you never had "been there"; as an athlete or a coach.

I heard the second hour with Skip and Jimmy. Sounded like coach Bertman was ok with the overall season. If that's true , then I'm cool with it too. I didn't expect Omaha with the number of underclass men we had this year. Next season will be interesting. This team exceeded my expectations !!

Duplantis should have scored too on the lob to first from the pitcher with no look back.

I get it as a single instance. But base running has been an issue since Paul's first year. This is like the people that still say Ryan Perilloux's dismissal is the reason we are in bad shape at QB.
