Spurrier

This was Saban's fault. Skips aid himself that Spurrier was his guy but Saban kept asking Skip to wait because he wasn't sure he was leaving yet.

By the time Saban told Skip, Spurrier was already announced as the Gamecock coach

Why would we get a defense minded guy if we already have a good defense. Its just counter productive IMO. We need a new Offense. One that can develop a QB. One that involves a QB that can throw a good ball down field. It's what this Whole Fan base wants.

Well how did having an offensive minded coach do the majority of the last 11 years?

I'm not gonna say one way or the other. Couldn't care less if the guy is defensive or offensively minded as long as he can win. A defensive guy can make the right offensive hires to win. I mean Saban has done it right?

Fisher and Herman are offensive minded are they not?

Also, do people really want to see a chip Kelly type offense here? I know I don't.

Remember when Summing had that high flying fast striking offense? What did it win him?
Nothing because he defenses would be so wore out by the second quarter because they were on the field for the whole game.

I have heard that Herman to Texas is a done deal.

Ugh -- nothing is a done deal until the press conference announcing a hire. That phrase should be banned from this site.

ETA: for typo

Not fricking fisher. Why are y'all so stupid. Less miles won a national championship also, and he NEVER got beat by 45 points by teams he was superior to in terms of talent. Wake up.

I'd take chip Kelly over fisher any day of the week. You must be to young to remember people were glad he left at LSU, and that he has gotten destroyed his last few games out of the last 7 games.

he turned around what program? 30 plus years before he got to FSU they only had like 3 losing seasons.

you obviously have no idea what Bowden did to that program at the end of his tenure. you really should check into things before opening your mouth.

We did pretty damn good. Look at the 10+ wins per season. Lol. And Miles was using a damn 1975 style offense. His only problem was he couldn't develop a QB. That and he would not open up the offense. And the reason for that is.... See above.

i never said he was the cleanest coach in the world. yes there are things that he might have done that i have no idea about. yes his last 5 years of his time there was bad and how he brushed it off like it wasn't a big deal didn't help him out either but to say someone came in and turned the program around is kind of pushing it. by all means I'm always open for correction but i am a person that looks into things before i open my "mouth"

So what makes anyone think they will find anyone better?

There is no guarantee Herman will do better I mean yes he did good at Houston, it's not the SEC.(still wouldn't mind him here just playing Devils advocate)

OMG Fisher lost a game. Miles lost some games in 08 by a lot of points. It happens. Fisher has proven he can develop qbs more than once, and has won with less than top notch assistants because FSU doesn't give him the money for them like LSU would.

I'm sure coach O will and should be considered. How far down the list I don't know. He was crap at Ole Puss, but he brought in lots of talent and the next coach had some success with it. He looked better as interim at USC and may have learned from his past but I donto know.

I still don't believe it matters whether the next coach is offensive or defensive minded as long as they win

You stole this directly off my post from yesterday.

Strong would make a great LB coach on Herman's, Fisher's or Oeaux's Staff, but he aint gonna be HC here..................

A minority token interview that the AD has to give how far have we come in society sir your the type of problem this country has today .

Why does it have to come to the color of a mans skin CS has proven himself has won championships as a defensive coordinator , been a head for several years but he is a token not qualified .

I excuse your ignorance it comes from your upbringing and your culture somethings will never change.
